  • WHY SHOW ME THIS??????????

  • well i grew up poor and we ate good, we never had processed food...we ate what they call in the south poor mans food, which is dried beans cornbread potatoes vegetables etc and we didnt drink soda we drank koolaid. i always go back to that when i dont have much money

  • i dont think poor ppl are uneducated about buying food, i think its cheaper to buy a 12pk of roman noodles verses buy 3pound of lettuce that u can maybe get 3-4 servings and you have to buy other things to go in the salad plus dressing, so its cheaper to buy roman, plus lettuce only last 4 days

  • where is the vegetables and fruit? that is a really poor diet of ramen noodles and mac n cheese. Poor people are very uneducated about nutrition.

  • OMG Erin, I love you!!!!

  • even just buying name brands is also a great way to get by just as this video says. I see that the cost of living in Dubuque is much lower then most cities. And if it's as poor as stated I'm surprised that there aren't higher crime rates. Dubuque is a very safe city with low cost for housing. I just see alot of people there living beyond their income and going into debt doing so. They need to set up some free budgeting classes in this city.

  • Even the most highly educated and financially successful people are in debt because they didn't stay within their means. "You can take a horse to water, but you can't get the to drink." Old saying, but seed of truth it holds.

  • I'll admit I never realized how hard it was in some places. I was born in North side Chicago and Raised partly in Baltimore and Chicago. My father alone makes a 6 figure salary and it's always the best for this family. But I started hanging out with some people from Dubuque and began to see what it took to get by for some people. Some problems are the educational system seems quite low when it comes to teaching budgeting skills. Some ideas are go apply for food stamps if your eligible

  • Buy Some Vegetables! If you have to buy Top Ramen crap, at least add vegetables to it instead of HOT DOGS... LMAO! WTF

  • duh uhmm i live in dubuque and i have shopped at that store and i by all of the brand names and my mom makes way more money than that a week so dont even go saying that people in dubuque dont make money!!

  • LOL...this is not Dubuque...this is the northie projects which makes up such a small amount...Go to an actual big city like Chicago and see how far the people on the south side can push a dollar. This aint shit.

  • Buying Ramen noodles, hot dogs, and mac & cheese is really stretching the dollar there. Give me a break, those people just need to learn how to manage their money.

  • boo hoo. Without suffering there is no motivation to not be poor.

  • Okay, and why are they not shopping @ Aldis???

That's how we really do it.
