I did this on this excat day and let me tell you it was the BEST experience of my life... Theres a rule not to harm the bulls during this race, if you do somethig stupid the local belt the shit out of you. I believe its great for the bull to finally feel it needs to attack things instead of standing around docile in a farm. But in saying that i watched the bull fight and that was farking cruel to see a sword get rammed in its spine. BUT i eat meat and slaughter houses are way crueller!! so yeah.

I don't think they are idiots, I think it would be awesome to run away from a stampede of bulls. It's called "adrenaline" and it's the best fucking thing you can experience. The more intense the situation, the more intense the adrenaline rush is. Besides, fuck it, it's a part of their culture and they maintain the upmost respect for the animal. It's much better than the way animals are butchered for food, so if you want to piss and moan about animal cruelty then go bother a meat packing plant.

@AussieZac Keep in mind that this is a tradition that goes back centuries in Spanish culture. Only about 15 death are recorded and thousands of people run in it every year. But people die everyday in every which way. People die skydiving and kayaking and all sorts of other things. Hell, I could die just walking down my street if a driver wasn't paying attention and swayed a little. So people die, and it always sucks, but these people are amazing for still doing this and preserving their culture.

This isnt a sport for fuck sake. It started in the 15th century when the word "sport" probably didnt even exist. Usually the runners who get caught are the most drunked ones or the foreign tourists who dont realise that the spanish runners know perfectly where they are running, every corner where they can hide in need, the way to avoid an incoming full, etc. because they have SKILL AND PRACTICE.
