  • OK what if you walking along with the katana sword on the streets,Someone will call the cops and that compliment will say this person is carrying a rifle. You will go to jail in like in 3 seconds but still you will go to jail if you carry that sword So why in the hell you want people use the sword that is to long to carry so people will find out you going to hurt someone?

  • @beersmash1 Training with the sword is part of the tradition of the art.

  • thank you sur

  • do you now how to clean it properly main is geting dusty and i wish to clean it whill still being respect ful

  • @ikki345346 There are special oils and cloth to use for cleaning your sword. If you search Internet for "sword cleaning kits" you will see places that provide the materials and instructions.

  • Very informative, thanks. You got me as your subscriber ^^

  • @guitarjunkee32 i think what dooberstl2004 should have said that the origin and birth of a ninja sword was straight and shorter in length and that a samurai sword is of the curved variety... also ninja swords were of a cheaper and less quality material and nowhere near the quality of a samurai sword purely because they could not afford the skilled craftsmen to make them.... either way they both awesome weapons !!!

  • @PaulYTwhite I know thwere is a little controversy right now as to what was a "ninja-to: but i do know acording to the Bujinkan The ninja would carry either a stadard katana as it was their right as samurai in most cases or a slightly shorter Ko-katana or shinobi-gatana.

  • what kind of material is that you have holding the katana to your belt? were can i purchase that?

  • @nico27004 You can get "sageo" in various materials. If you search internet for "katana supplies" you can find good providers who can ship a sageo to you. Thanks for watching! Our 7th kyu lesson from the video black belt course is dedicated to katana study. It has more detail than the vids on this Youtube channel. If that tool would be helpful to you just check it out on our web site...

  • Actually, dooberstl2004, the ninja would use whatever they had access to, be it a katana or a cheap inferior straight sword. They were spies & assassins... they had to be versatile!

  • @screenpuller Saying that winja's didn't use a katanas, is like saying Indians only used bow and arrows...

  • Ninjas did not carry Katanas. Katanas were the weapon of the samurai. Ninjas used the ninjato which is shorter and straight.

  • @dooberstl2004 that is not always the case, alot of ninja used regular katanas, and a ninjato is just a variation of a katana that has a more curved blade to make it more efficient for cutting

  • @dooberstl2004 Ninjatos were never used by ninjas... They either used farming tools (Sai, Kama, Kunai((not the TV Kunai... the Farmers Kunai))) or they used normal swords (katanas, tantos, wakizashis)

  • this was very usful, (though i do believe samurai have the same style in training)

  • I live the staff and i learn to use a sword when i get my brown belt

  • omg you are soo cool

  • i have a question about wereing a katana on the back, from the swords i have , it seems like it would not be able to come out easily or go in easily, iv heard that if you want to were one on the back you should have a ko katana is that true?

  • I thought the sageo was for tying back the sleeve of your robe. Since I never wear samurai robes U've only ever thought of the cord as ornamental.

  • Wait, how exactly does the sword in the sheath stay on that belt? Do you just slide it on the inside of the belt? Doesn't it fall off or something?

Sorry I am completely new to this.

  • @Killuminatyi Yes, at 1:08 in the clip you can see Sensei quickly tucking it under the belt. And you keep track of the angle of it as you wear it, holding it or keeping it pointed upward as necessary. PS: welcome to Bujinkan!

  • V NICE THX a 1000 times!! :)

  • hey i got a hand frreged katana and theres alot more ways to fight and draw it

  • cant u put the katana on your back if you can can you make video

  • XD the dude looks like a hobo. But he talks truth o_o

  • Um last time I checked historically the samari(sry about spelling) carried the katana, ninjas were basically the first assassins they used a nasty hook like blade that could be used as a weapon it's self but also latched onto katanas and the they used the katana to kill the samari with his own weapon

  • @thisISaPENn samurai did carry katana. Ninja carried a shorter, straight blade called a ninjato as well as many other weapons including the one youre referring to called a kama, which, like a lot of the ninja's weapons, were designed to trap and disable katana specially. hope that helps

btw ninja were not the first assassins as the act of assassination is 10s of 1000s of years old, being traced back to Old Testament times. In fact the Chinese inspired a lot of Ninja techniques.
