I wonder why she was dropped from Geffen Records, though.

She'll probably have a record deal soon, hopefully with a better company than Geffen. Columbia, Hollywood, and Capitol Records are more respected than Geffen and she'd probably not have to worry about being dropped.

Was she dropped or did she fulfil the obligation of the contract & not re-sign with Geffen? I really don't know. I did read something about her being fired from Annie a long time ago & that they settled out of court -obviously it wasn't fair to her, they settled with her out of court and they were talking large sums of money, She wasn't the one in the wrong, From history I would think she morally would have finished her obligations,but no assuming- she seems to be really having a crazy life(?)

I THINK that she was dropped from Geffen. I felt it was sort of implied, during her first American Idol audition.

She got fired from Annie because she got Bronchitis. She shouldn't have been fired for that.

People were complaining that she's too polished for American Idol, a show that is dedicated to discovering raw talent.

Pacitti is definitely talented and beautiful, but she already has connections with Broadway and Major Label music producers.

Leave it to people, such as myself, who can sing, but have yet to be heard.

I'm not because I'm a classically trained singer, thus I wouldn't see the point in entering a contest for contemporary singers, although I probably would have made it through a a few rounds, granted I auditioned. I have received good feedback from a pop/rock vocal coach, if that explains my saying so.

That's right, David Cook had a record deal before Idol and Archuleta won Star Search back in 2003. If they're going to disqualify Joanna, then they should disqualify Cook and Archuleta as the finalists and declare Syesha Mercado the winner.

She's not anymore, and the recording contract she'd win from AI would be just as significant to her as it would be to anyone else; if she's enough of a threat to the other contestants that you want her kicked out, then she obviously has enough talent to legitimately win.
