  • there's no words in this movie????

  • @nbeachbum222 Not a single word. Murnau never got to make a talkie.

  • @hardtimesincountry haha, i was just kiddin around. its a running joke me and my friend have. one time at NYU some girl came up to him trying to get him to join some film club and was telling him about The 400 Blows (that's what they were showing), and the first thing he responded was, "Is there subtitles in that movie?"

and she totally didn't get he was messing with her.

I'm actually trying to write a paper on Murnau right now. Great stuff. I wonder what he would have done with words.

  • @nbeachbum222 Well, I'll skip the lecturing this time then :-) Good luck with your paper!

  • Goodness, the prints of Murnau films that are available these days are so beautifully clear compared to those that were around even a decade ago. This is a pleasure to watch.

  • classic love it, it can take several viewings which is very rare

  • Magnificent sense of shape, scale, and frame.

  • Murnau was a genius - one of the truly great directors.

  • In Murnau's Nosferatu, Renfield, or "Knock" is played by Alexander Granach, who also gave brilliant performances as Mephisto from Faust in Berlin.

  • Thanks for a spooky share!!
