    Do you smoke?

  • Hello Allen

Isee you have people ask if you have a CD. But have you ever thought about cuting a player piano roll?

    Best to you from Earl

  • @JEMCO2008 I don't know where to begin to contact QRS or anyone about making rolls or discs for player pianos. thanks for the suggestion tho!

  • Love this song especially from 1:34 to the end.

Im so glad i've found a source of ragtime piano music. I love listening to your ragtime pieces especially after work. destresses me!.

Think may even start looking into learning the piano now!.

Also your other clip of "I'm sitting on top of the world" is amazing too.

    Thank you

    frye UK

  • Thank you.

  • He inspired me even more, too!

  • Hey Allen, You bring back some wonderful memories of my dad. He had a Hammond B-3 organ back in the mid to late 50s and would play all these old rag time songs on it. I was only about 4 or 5. By far you are a great keyboard player. I am requesting one tune, "Roll Out The Barrel" If you have already done it I will be looking for it. Keep up the great work.

  • Thanks. Beer Barrel Polka is ON yyoutube!

  • This is real toe tapping stuff. I loved it!! I would love it if you could maybe do a version of 12th street rag or maybe even "by the light of the silvery moon"

  • Thanks. I have 12th street rag already posted on youtube, and am reasonably sure I have By the Light of the Silvery Moon up also.

  • Wow!! Beautiful

  • Wow!! Thanks.

  • My goodness, you have both on your list. I apologise, I should have looked harder! You are a musical genius! I was more classically trained, but I love ragtime and old tunes from the 20's and 30's. I am from the UK and am a (secret) fan of Gladys Mills, as she was an excellent entertainer. But I definitely think you're in the same league. Keep up the good playing

  • wow, i hope im as skillful one day. great song, well done

  • thanks

  • I'm saving it to my favorites to pass along to all my 6 sisters and their families. My Dad used to play this song for us girls when we were young. Thank so much for sharing your talent with us!!! I'm second to youngest and I'm 42. God bless you always!!

  • thank you.

  • my dad always plays iv got a lovely bunch of coconuts for me and i would love!! to hear you play it? so if you decide to play it or not tell me please!

  • I will try and post that sometime soon.

  • Do you play by ear, or did you originally learn and memorize the songs that you play? Just wondering ~ you play with so much feeling, that I thought you probably play by ear.

  • I play by ear mostly.

  • I can't believe that you can play like that! it seems like a miracle, watching your fingers lightly bounce across the keys. What an amazing skill you have! I love the little details that you add to your playing - your music is so enjoyable and it enriches your listeners and viewers!

  • thank you.

  • Thank you for your gift of talent. It is just amazing how you have such rythum. Every song you play is definitely a gift from God and I'm sure you put in many hours of practice throughout your life time. Thanks again. It was definitely awesome.

  • Thanks. It is a gift from God for sure!

  • Great

  • Thanks.

    Heidi

  • @heidiramone Then if you've heard the second line 'Has anybody seen my girl?'

Well, you must be the girl.

    LOL

  • I grew up with Johnny Maddox at Club 76 in Toronto. And you are carrying on with his great tradition with ragtime.

  • I had a few Johnny Maddox Records as a kid, but my biggest influence at ragtime piano was Del Wood.

  • Hope that on the next christams eve, you gonna post some new songs:) in your red shirt

  • I will try.

  • DAMN this is good stuff!

  • THANKS!

  • you're all kinds of awesome- thanks for these!

  • I've been searched this piece on youtube, and your version it's The One, I really really like it, and the other vid's you had are really nice too. Keep on playing!!!. Lot's of kisses

  • thanks!

  • I hope you're having as much fun playing as we are listening!!! W

  • I sure am!!!!

  • Nice right hand work. I was waiting for you to break out into a boogie, but you still did a nice job. I'd love to hear what you think of my "Five Foot Two" version. Thanks

  • thanks

  • You seem to pay more attention to your left hand than your right, yet the right hand's playing still comes out correct, thanks for sharing.

  • thank you.

  • Allendale You'd thought you'd take away this hunter dudes remington over under shotgun when I accused you of removing songs. Wrong I was. They are there. Just have not ever heard such stuff that you do. It is flat addicting. I should be in the woods huntin and here I sit a listen to your piano music. It gains control over a person in a good way. Just keep a producing this stuff if there are any songs left to even play!!!!!

  • thsnk you!

  • Glad I kept a lot of your music as FAVORITES. You had 136 songs.....when I found your work recently. WHO gave you permission to reduce this to 40? Hey Bud! Just saying we like your stuff, man!

  • He is SOOO damn AMAZING, I HOPE he doesn't SEE this COMMENT!! LOL Len P

  • thanks, Len.

  • you weren't supposed to SEE that!!!

  • Sorry, Len, but If I put the blinders on again I might miss Mr. Right for now or something like that !!! LOL. I do however, Like this song alot!

  • man you are just awesome. i like listening to this song only played by you. i have other versions as well but this just blows my mind. you give me inspiration to learn playing ragtime. keep up the good work!

  • thank you!!!

  • Listening to this arrangement makes me remember why I took up piano. A very full nickelodeonish style arrangement with all the the authentic embellishments.

  • Thank you.

  • All this without a music sheet, obviously an intuitive performer. Great stuff

  • Thank You!

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks, Brad.

  • Outstanding...I love ragtime piano...I wish I could find a good ragtime version of Darktown Strutters Ball with no singing,Just good ragtime piano...I can't find one anywhere...Those kids in the music store have the deer in the headlights look when I ask them about it.Thank you for giving me a little ragtime to lift my spirits.

  • Thank You!

  • I agree totally with your comments. You go into a music store and ask for any ragtime CDs and they look at you as though you came from another planet. At least Alan and many others on YouTube are keeping ragtime alive. Thank God
