Too bad it says in the warranty that the engine will break in half if used in a mild to rough seas condition. Seems they cut to much weight out of this pigs mid-section to make it even try to run with E-TEC or Optis. If it breaks Yam will not repair it under warranty, isnt that nice. Read the fine print i you don't believe me!!!

i have a 250 mercury pro xs that will blow that sho max in speed and match it in power especially with a fury prop. Motor does look cool but with yamaha reliability i wouldnt buy that motor enless it had a 8 year waranty. mercury is way more reliable and all around better motor.

@CRFmxracer the sho max is still a heavier motor than the pro xs you may get a better hole shot but a 250 pro xs is still the best bassboat motor. And rangers are the slowest boats on the water.

@nitrocdx24 rangers are faster than tritons. bullets are fastes because for one they are the worst bass boats for actually fishing, the hull sticks outta the water so much they get blown around. next would be gamblers or sterlings which have the same problem. skeeters are the 4th fastest but they actually fish great. then would be phoenix, then stratos, pro craft, ranger, triton, and finally nitro. tritons chinewalk horribly so they cant get to the top end.

@nitrocdx24 and i just looked it up. both the pro xs and the sho weigh 505lbs. same weight. the sho is more powerful, more acceleration, more top end, since its a 4 stroke more reliable, and better fuel milage too.

@nitrocdx24 bullets, allisons, norris craft, strokers, gamblers/"sterlings" are all together with being fast as hell but get blown around alot, not very good fishability. skeeters, phoenix, legend, basscats are all together in the second tier of faster boats. stratos and pro craft are about the same, great fishabillity just not a front tunner in speed. rangers nitros and tritons are the slowers particularly nitros and tritons. nitros hull is weak as hell kvd's is reinforced, custom not standard

@CRFmxracer my nitro goes 76 mph which is fast enough cause i live on a 2,000 acre lake. nitro has the best fishing boat with the speed and you asre wrong rangers are the slowest. talked to a buddy of mine at marine USA when i was buying my boat and he said rangers pop off plane at 66 to 68mph. dont be hating on nitros there great fishing boats and u cant beat the deck space. My boat would go 78 to 80 if i got a hydrolic jackplate. i have a manual setback. i love my boat. 2007 929cdx 250proxs
