It's also a pretty good idea to chech the tire at the same spot as the hole in the tube for the cause of the puncture. No use in patchin the tube if theres half a porcupine in your tire.

I used duck tape! works great! because as you know when duck tape gets hot it bounds with whatever you put it on. And I have patched my inter tube 14 times! and it works great!

One note to add. Once hole is located in the tube, take it back to the tire and rim aligning with the valve hole in the rim. The tube should now line up where the entry point was on the tire. Inspect the tire to ensure there is not a thorn or tack still in the tire. You can check by carefully running your fingers on the inside of the tire. If this is not performed and the cause of the flat is still present, you'll be getting plenty of practice patching a tube.

In the Netherlands, we love our bikes and I think we have to patch our bikes an awfull lot. We got this entire kit that you can buy, it has tools to seperate the tire from your frame, sandpaper, some of that rubber, but you have to cut out the figure yourself.

It's a pain in the arse though. To those who think buying a new inner tube is cheaper.. and/or paying the bike repair guy, they are wrong.
