Philippine gov't should follow Hugo Chavez of Venezuela by clossing down some unproductive Golf courses that cater only to a few rich people. Golf course business in the Philippines are not making money ,some of them should be put in to good use ,specially for food production ! but a few should remain ,for tourist and local enthusiast !A small country like Philippines with a land area of only 300,000 sq. Km and way over populated , can't afford extravagance and land mismanagement !
Foreign investors will help a lot in solving poverty and joblessness in the country ! but where are they ? they seems to be shying away from Philippines and favoring ather nation like : China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. What do those countries can offer ,that Philippines can't? Philippine gov't should strive hard to lure foreign investors to stay, by means of Tax insentives and given land ownership !
--- post 2.

First of all, I am not saying that it is a dumb opinion; but you are (just peep into the other thread where you dalled dumpsite as dumbsites in Phils.)
That is, I say very creative idea, golf sites; but for Philippines' situation that is inappropriate; just imagine who will just benefit a golf course? But we need to be more creative profit-wise; convert it to energy or something else profitable to give jobs to those living beside those as you said, dumBsites.
Anyway, as a sort of a lesson; a "dumpsite" is different from a DUMBSITE...and I am quite certain; there is no "DUMBsite" in Philippines; dumpsite, there is yes.
DumP - is a waste disposal site
DumB - is an "offensive term" meaning unintelligent; as having a low level of intelligence; it is an INSULT.
Hey, dude; just wondering if you really know what you're sayin'
Your opinion is preposterous & flabby for a guy who brag about where he stood.
Dumbsite? And you are giving an opinion to a people you call dumbs? Whether it's a mistake or intentional act; it neither gives you any credit dude.
Statistics showed 92M as of July, 2008 & counting....you don't need to implement that wacky suggestion to know no. of poorest people around you; it's just plain stupid.
We hope to be able to implement community based management systems, but the costs are prohibitive when the local executives cannot be convinced to fund the CBMS.
Corruption in the government, rebellion by various factions, these are main factors that deter foreign investors.

And implementing that won't PUSH the corrupt people to render service to the rightful beneficiaries.
Funny; to know their income? job?; a beggar will be monitored how juch he begged (job: beggar) for a day. For a child who picks up trash daily....?

poverty in Manila Philippines?
Poor people are still smoking, taking durgs, drinking alcahol. and have money to enjoy the karaoke, and computer games
All squatter have free electric , water, free rent.
and inside of their home they have tv, washing machine, ref, music center
The barangay near us are always drunk.

c´mon philippines you can do better..
think how to fight poverty
fight the power of the church who doesnt believe in science,
use prevention instead of unwanted child...
think liberal..
the church are against for all the preventions.
think of the unwanted children that will suffer just because you forgot or your religion forbids you to use prevention..
think about it..you are the one whose making decision..
