@audioace06 well put... 'without looking for a band,' because truly, you couldn't find a better musical partner for yourself than well, yourself. it has done WONDERS for my playing... see the recent ones for more examples of how I use it. cheers and g'luck
Just got one of these Boss 's for Christmas and after seeing a few videos (yours included) of it in use, I'm pretty excited and inspired with the possibilities.
That was sweet fella. Gave me a few goosebumps there. My old man loves the blues and I kind of went off it a bit because of his midnight harmonica playing, lol XD but your vids are inspiring to start learning how to play the blues. I'll definitely check out Galloways channel. cheers.
now THAT is the greatest compliment I've ever received!!!
If you dig the looper and dig the blues, you should go check out markgalloway's channel -- he was MY inspiration for getting the loop station! you can learn A LOT from him! good luck and cheers!
Hey man ! You should just get more energy in your shuffle because here it's really shy. Even in your playing, you should work on the attack of your pick. Very good feeling though but don't be so shy !!
This is good advice, man, thank you! I'm always tryin' to improve. Seems your a guitarist too, with good taste I might add... gonna go check out your stuff. Cheers.
I hear some kind of Doors vibe in there, digg your solo style, and believe me, I know it ain't all that technical, but it grooves very nice, keep up man, and get in a band, man :)
Hey thanks very much! I really dig the RC20XL, though I have heard from others that you get MOST of the same functionality with the less-expensive RC2. Do some research, of course, but as far as my level of satisfaction with the RC20, it's a 10/10. Love it.
hey man iv got a question..how to you get to connect the panasonic to the computer?? I have been trying to figure it out. Your help would be very much appritiated thanks.... (im pretty shure that i spelled "apritiated" wrong".
man i really enjoyed the way you just jammed that out!!! i have a question.. what scale(s) did you use for the soloing? I can play the gat buti dont really know the right scales..do you have some tips brother!
hey man! really glad you dug it -- the jam (and most jams in blues, really) is mostly the pentatonic scale -- a combination of minor and major pentatonic flavors, which are five-note scales. I probably also included some of the mixolydian mode, also. A solid tip about the pentatonic scale is that if you play the minor pentatonic scale at the 'relative minor' (three half steps down) from the main key of the song, it's a great 'lyrical' position to be in. Hope this helps - keep jammin!
hey thanks, man! sorry the volume was so low -- check out the In Memory of Elizabeth Reed vid I made after this one -- a different sorta use for the looper -- cheers!
Oh, totally -- this looper's been the best investment I've made in bedroom guitaristry since the guitar and amp themselves. Dude, I've gotta say that the volume on this vid was awfully low... have a look at my more recent vid, the Allman Bros cover for a better take on the mixer's abilities -- I had my gain set wayyyy too low on this one.
hey man, i love the tune. i just got an rc20xl loop station and for some reason i have no idea how to rewrite phrases, or how to delete the demo phrases that came with the pedal. once i recorded in a few of the empty slots (1-11) i can't figure out how to re-record them. you think you could tell me how?
hey thanks man... it's an excellent pedal and worth the investment, imho. you erase loops by pushing and holding the right pedal until you see the 'write' and 'exit' buttons flash really fast. you can also erase the last overdub you did, while still in playback mode, by pressing and holding the left pedal for at least two seconds until you see the yellow 'overdub' light flash. check my next vid to see how you can erase a loop on the fly (right pedal) to start over, mid-tune
MR. DUDE -- Thanks, man!! To see a looper (and not necessarily the guy playing it) shine, check out the video after this one, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. Any mistakes made are actually "bloopers" LOL
Life's grand, man -- happy camper over here with these two beautiful baby girls. they say Hi, btw
My apologies -- you're right. My trim knob on the mixer was way too low when I recorded this one, and fixed the issue in my new video, posted up just a short while ago -- hopefully with better results. Cheers.
You are going to have a great time having that loop station, sounds good what you are playing and it will get better and better, I have the RC 50 I can't stay away from it! Checkout the video response. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future. Thank God for all these great toys.
Thanks, Mark! I keep saying I'm gonna record what I have (so far) of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, but then someone craps their diapers and I get distracted! I'll try again today. Cheers, man!
Nicely played and well done theerion! You absolutely ROCK dude! Long time no see on youtube! How are things going with the little ones? Have they gotten here yet? Anyways, keep jammin brother!
Hhey thanks! Indeed, the little ones showed up happy and healthy just over 9 weeks ago -- Elise Delilah and Althea Olive -- I have pics and videos of them up on my blog -- get the URL from my channel, as youtube's real finicky about posting them in comments
Therion, good stuff, i too was wondering if you'd taken a break. From you playing it doesn't sound like it. Great blues lead playing, could go on for hours. i too want to get me one of the Loop Stations though they were a little pricey last time i looked ......... $250ish? well worth the investment i bet, just the wife might get majorily pissed. enough rambling, great to see you playing again, thanks.
Hey Walker, good to see you! yeah, $250ish and worth every penny. Best investment I've made in music since the guitar and amp themselves! I did a little writeup on my blog site -- get the URL from my channel -- there's also pictures and vids of my newborn baby girls, which is my excuse for my youtube hiatus -- cheers mate
Alrighty! The Boss Loop Station are righteous...I have the little brother, the RC-2. Well worth the money. Very nice playing! These loop station can really help you practice leads or just keeping good time as a rhythm player
Couldn't have said it better, Jon.... the Looper's become, as Chris Grant put it, my 'new best friend.' So many 'one-off' little jams that can go as long as I want.... most appreciated on the compliment -- thank you, bro! Yiassou!
nice erion....coming along fuckin sweet brother! tone sounds bluesy as shit.
we need to hope for this wanee announcement this year, sometime soon...i dont know if they're gunna do it, but im hoping they do....if so, we gotta get that campsite jam going....im trying to convince my band to do like that one band and haul our equipment down and jam plugged in at the campsite thursday...if they have early camping again.....
hey thanks brotha!! this looper thing -- go get one. wait til you hear the allmans stuff i've been working on -- coming soon!
as far as wanee goes... MAN i'd love to go, but I got these two newborn twin girls to be lookin' after right now, so I might (MIGHT) have to skip the fest this year --- but NEXT year, for sure, I'll be there with the wife and kids, standin' next to you at the campground jam, guitfiddle in hand. keep me posted on wanee news, please... too many diapers lately!
awe too bad man....i was checkin out the wanee website yesterday and it was down, checked it today and it said check back for 2009 info shortly....hopefully you can make it out but totally understandable if not.
i had the rc-20, it just wasnt my cup of tea....i have much more fun with the digitech delay/looper....much easier to get the timing
Domo Aregato, Stray!! It's been a long time of playing without a camera because I was shy and unhappy with my playing, but a lot of practice -- and I still have a lot of practice to do. How are you, my friend!?
Nice - If the first 12 bars of chords is exactly what got looped, it sure is seamless going from the initial live performance to the bottled repeats. Good stuff!
hey thanks, paul! or should I call you 'divestipaul' from now on... indeed the looping is seamless... I can't wait for you to see/hear the other nifty stuff i've been working on. check out the markgalloway channel and find his Superstition and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed to see just how useful this looper jobbie can be
WOW! How have you found time to hone your playing to this level Dude! You remind me of a guy I knew in Florida named Tinsley Ellis! Keep Playing, and good luck with the twins!
GONZORAMA -- Tinsley!??!! My guitar mentor Greg Poulos is good friends with Tinsley, and in fact it was he who introduced him to his wonderful girlfriend Kathy, but that's another story. The twins are rockin', man! They're diggin' swing, big band and reggae so far, but I'll turn em onto the blues when the time is right! Cheers, mate.
Holy Crap! What a small world! I used to go see him and hang out with him when I lived in Jacksonville. He would play all the time at a BBQ/Blues club outside of Jax.
Don't ask me the name, that was in late 80's, early 90's! Ha!
Congratulations on the babies!!!! Man thats what its all about, family! I was wondering did you give up the guitar since I hadnt seen any videos from you in forever...LOL "Honey" still sounds great! Glad to see you still bluesing it up. Im still stuck at the beginners phase, but im having fun. Post those videos man! So you can SEE your progress over time, you are already good! Peace.
Hiya Stu! Thanks for the kind words -- the looper has helped me practice so many aspects of making music on the guitar.
