  • This music scares the crap out of me.

  • @magetaaaaaa it does sound kinda creepy to me as well, it's making me think of silent hill for some reason >_<

on another note, this ambient music sounds slowed down, I wonder how it would sound sped up a bit, maybe so that it goes from like 7 minutes long to like 2 or 3 minutes..

  • Kinda reminds me of Tangerine Dream, with a slightly more ominous edge, but not quite dark ambient (eg., Scorn).

  • I'm amazed there is 1 person out there who dislikes this.

  • close your eyes

    turn the volume up

    and let the images come

  • I like making space art to this music.

  • soundtrack of a terror film in the mountains

  • I like Biosphere. I proud to be Norwegian <3

  • @MrMalcom77 and so you should be - this is beautiful and Biosphere is awesome!

  • First off, this music is excellent. 2nd, in response to those who do not know what the big deal is, I have come to the conclusion in life that not all music is meant for everyone.I do not mean to come off as an elitist, however some music should not be listened to by some people because it takes away from the quality of the music lest it go mainstream.I was a major trance listener in the 90's, but by going mainstream the music went downhill for the masses Glad that ambient has not gone that way.

  • @mandaladouble

I'm sorry, but I find the idea that the amount of people who listen to something changes the quality of the music to be ludicrous and self indulgent. You do come off as elitist.

  • @mandaladouble when something goes 'mainstream', it doesn't necessarily degrade the music. Just means more people might be listening to 'good' music ~ 'good' being a very subjective term which means something different to every1. And the word 'mainstream' is basically irrelevant nowadays with every type of music being available at every1's fingertips via the net. the only reason why trance went 'downhill' is because of your own perception it did. to some1 else, it might be 'the next big thing'.

  • @mandaladouble you are right, and i must confess i am a bit elitist with my music. but as soon as something becomes popular the record companys leap on it and release any old crap. now adays they dont have that control, especialy with this kind of music. thankfully this music is not for everyone, therefore can not be ruined, hopefully.

  • The whole album is out of this world. I don't know what happened to Mr. Jenssen in Himalayas but it seems like he discovered a way to transfer listeners to another dimension, when I listen to this track I always imagine such scene: cold, misty morning by a lake surrounded by forests and mountains, I woke up by the camp fire after days of trekking and I know it's my last day here, I'm packing and going home, I know I'll be missing this place so much but also take home wonderful memories of it

  • @subradial thats what's up dude

  • @subradial neat

  • @subradial You see, it's actually fun that you say that. Lots of my friends who have listen to this track said that it let them feel like if there were in a cold place. I have always pictured this session as standing in the middle of a snowstorm.

  • soft horror

  • Tracks like this have helped me write whole chapters. Love this.

  • WOW

  • I dont see what the fuss is

It makes for good mood music, but I wouldnt really listen to this without context.

Put it in a movie or a game, then maybe Id feel differently,

    But right now, its meh

  • @Bubblesboyjunior

That's probably because you see this genre as merely background music (for elevators and etc.)

If you really want to like this music, you should lie down with a headset on in complete darkness and feel the magic. This sort of music shouldn't really be used for games, because, in my opinion, the music needs your full attention to be enjoyed.

  • @Bubblesboyjunior

For me, this music places itself in any context imaginable, i don't need a movie or a game for that...

  • @Bubblesboyjunior It's all about imagination. You listen to this music without context, what does your minds eye see when you hear the sounds. One person might see something big and welcoming like a lake or a mountain while others might see something small and foreboding like an desolate house or a dark forest. You just have to listen to the sound and give it your own context. Write your own story based on what you hear.. That's the beauty of ambient music, it's purposely ambiguous.

  • @UnitedDiscord beautiful comment, thumbs up

  • @Bubblesboyjunior you should try going on a hike in a beautiful place with this playing then im sure it would change your mind. thats what made me love biosphere so much was the contrast between his music and the beautiful natural world.

  • @Bubblesboyjunior its about how you understand the depth of the human experience, you dont strike me as being a very creative person.

  • endlessly beautifully

  • this IS the best ambient track ever made. soothing and highly emotional as well. great melody. maybe the best track of him.

  • Hah this is like one of the greatest songs EVER.

  • @danni13371

I'd like to shake your hand because it's pretty much my favorite song ever as well. I can't get anyone into this music though no one gets the beauty of it. the melody in this song is EXACTLY the type of melody i always want to be hearing. it can be anything you want it to. PERFECT!

  • One of the greatest ambient tracks ever created.

  • Song to be played in my funeral.....

I'm totally addicted to this track...

  • Mój najlepszy utwór z tej płyty.Dzięki

  • i recently was hiking in colorado and i had this track on repeat. it was addicting. this track is so beautifully done. it can be anything you want. soothing, eerie, depressing, etc.

  • I feel like I am in a very cold place yet I am still very warm when I hear this.

  • My favorite music from Biosphere is "Kobresia", but I like "Silene". I love lazy musics like that. You can imagine and visualizing all what you feel. The only thing I don't like is this "clicking" sounds at the end.

  • Endlessly hominous but enchanting scenery put in some musical form.
