The ending of this film is so ridiculous- what happens to the rest of the massive East India/Royal Navy armada?! It's not like they'd just turn around and sail away when they've got about three times the amount of ships that the pirates have....

@ladsrus consider even that they show us something like 100 ships read to fight and at the end we see only 2 of them in the maelstrom. It's no sense. I thought to watch a massive battle, but there's no 'war' at all, only a confrontation between the two flagships. I was a little disappontend in that.

I don't understand why no one on the Endeavour had the good sense to fire the damn cannons. I know that Beckett was in a state of shock but what about the first mate? Why the hell was he just standing there asking for orders? They had enough firepower to maul both those ships and yet not a single person said fire. Jesus, they still could have had the cool death scene, awesomeness does not have to come at the expense of realism!

they were not really thinking that through were they... Two ships are essentially side by side with one wood ship in between, firing at close range. The pearls cannonballs would go right through, taking wood shrapnal and then pass into the dutchman and vise versa.

Wow, the Endeavour is a weak ass ship! It may look cool with its 3 rows of cannons and being twice the size of the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman, but it got taken down really easily.

And also, Why did the armarda just turn away, they could have easily won.

So unrealistic.

Epic none the less though, loved the film and it is a truely amazing scene =]

As you can see. At 1:38 he is having doubts about getting back-fired. (I personally think it was all a game of about proud, and a game of the mind, and that it all depended on just how you plan it out to be.)

I think he never lost. And he planned to keep it that way. Untill, a certain Captain Jack Sparrow showed him wrong.

@eddiebruv Those weren't normal ships, though. They were the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman, shrouded in mysticism, crewed by veterans and just granted license by a sea goddess to destroy that fleet. All the rest of the pirate fleet had to do was sit back and watch.

Also, I'd probably turn my ship away too. Wouldn't be worth the fight after I'd seen all that happened in those past few minutes.
