  • Chris Cunningham <3

  • Buenisimo

  • @malepillpart Wow, you're awfully mean.

  • @malepillpart When it's most thumbed comment, you can just imagine how annoying it is if every week someone comments to you.

  • @malepillpart That you shouldn't comment to something that's 2 years old.

  • @stickmister321 is it annoying that i am commenting on this?

  • @malepillpart It's 2 years old comment...

  • @malepillpart Lmao! :D

  • i think that this is one of the greatest electrnic songs ever recorded.

  • i like the later version with the humanoid thingy...

  • I feel like 'What did the Combine just do to me!?' ... strangely, I like that feeling

  • and finally a HQ version

  • Fantastic editing, a real tour de force. I imagine this took an enormous amount of time to put together. Kudos to the director and editor (possibly one and the same).

  • firstly the position of this idea is seemingly thought through but not enough for another take secondly there is no real idea here other then value forms and structured knowledge sorta. :)

  • this is a really kewl video..

  • LIKE THIS VIDEO!CRAZY/

  • Why does it called Second Bad Vilbel?

  • check my channel if you love idm and experimental electronica

  • The sounds are very similar to a song I heard from Panacea, maybe they were using the same samples?

  • How come there are 2 versions of the video? There's the one with the freaky alien dude too.

  • He build robot from the parts of plane.

  • ich bevorzuge 33+5 in etwa, so entfaltet sich die ganze kraft dieses gewaltigen meisterwerks!

  • I remember watching this at the age of 7. i came home late with my parents and i turned on the tv to watch wrestling or some crap but then my mother turned on the channel viva and this came. i was.. scared fascinated and disgusted at one time. song burned a scar in my psyche and i didnt remember neither the artist name nore the songname. now i viewed this on youtube by accident and fuck mate had to write this comment

  • I assume you had to wrestle with your mother since she tried to flip the channel? Otherwise you have one cool mother ;)

  • where is this robot from????

  • Chris built it himself if I remember correctly +cgi

  • I expect to hear this kind of music inside the mothership when it comes to pick me up.

  • @vivelavidarocka

    you're sick man xD +

  • @vivelavidarocka

    you're sick man xD +

  • @vivelavidarocka It's only a matter hopefully it will come soon. And when it does i'll be there.

  • @paranoidandroid192 You bet! I've already bought my black "windrunner" nikes

  • Ah, Chris Cunningham. I do quite like this video, it takes a "special" sort of person to make music vids to accompany these sort of tracks!

Autechre make music which I don't exactly feel a warm sense of enjoyment when listening to, yet I still listen to their tunes anyway, in a fascinated sort of way - anyone know what I mean?

  • @badegg3210 aye, at the beginning i was kinda forced to listen to them, i was fascinated even if not 100% satisfied. alltho they are one of my favourite electro duo probably

  • @badegg3210

hell yeah I know what you mean!

  • @badegg3210 Cynics and haters might say it's cold and emotionless but I have to agree with you. Though I don't always listen to Autechre for my own enjoyment once I get to know the tracks I find myself humming along, dancing and doing what people normally do with "pop" music. But when your listening to them it is out of curiosity. You never what will happen next and their songs continue to baffle me.

They remind me of Stanley Kubrick's films - sometimes hard and incoherent but worth the effort.

  • @paranoidandroid192

I'm liking the Kubrick comparison! Obviously, most people have some very clear opinions on their personal definition of music - I'll happily listen to "noise" pieces and electronic rhythms & loops of all tempos and be quite happy, while someone will always come back at me and make the famous statement: "That's not music, that's just noise!"

Think one of the best bi-products of their "emotionless" music is that at least people talk & debate about it.

  • @badegg3210 Whats the point of music if it doesn't leave you debating the quality, sound and textures in it. Its like watching a film. Whereas most people might want blockbusters with lots of special effects and action, I want to be able to not understand a film on first viewing, I like to talk about them with friends and family. Its the same with music. This music constantly baffles me and I can't stop listening to it. It's great that we can talk about this music in this way. Nice comment btw.

  • @paranoidandroid192 True, Autechre's good for that! But music-wise sometimes I just like to chill :D Harold Budd, Biosphere, etc. And sure, Hollywood Blockbusters vs Indie all the way - I'm mostly foreign & indie myself. Again, diversity - my wife hates subtitles, she's more of a Stallone/Arnie girll!

  • @badegg3210 sORT OF LIKE Igorrr

  • I remember watching this when I came home late at night from a party. I was tired, but i did not feel tired, so i decided to watch music television. The usually pop and rap crap would tire me.

But then someone of the music tv station had mercy and after a video by ludacris "second bad vilbel" came.

I was paralysed, could not close my eyes. One of the best music moments in my life.

After watching this video I was not tired anymore.

  • huh, was wondering because the origional version i saw had the 'alien' in it and when i got the DVD collection, the 'alien' didnt appear at all, was like wtf. didnt know he did it twice

  • Haha this video is awesome. Funny thing is, Chris Cunningham doesn't like it cause it turned out different from what he wanted it to be like. Apparently his original idea wouldn't have been possible for him to do at the time.

  • actually this is his second attempt at this song which he preferred.but your right he didnt like the first version he did of it.

  • Ah ok :P I remember reading something like that in the Chris Cunningham dvd booklet, guess I must have got it wrong :P

  • Comment removed

  • When I'd live in bad Vilbel, I'd listen to this all the time. Again and again and agaiN!

  • Nice!!

  • This is a masterpiece

  • Autechre is really ten times more interesting than a lot of stuff you'll hear these days, and i think their music will age nicely too, if at all

  • Genres were created by the industry. awaken your minds and learn to listen.

  • 'yall' isn't a word until apostrophised.. even then it is a colloquialism of the lowest order. i suggest you fuck off and slit your wrists you illiterate, inbred piece of shit.

  • garruda7 - go shove your shit vids, shit guitar, shit tunes, and shit playing up your gay ass you little faggot.

  • @garruda7 go back to listening to Justin Beiber, kid.

  • This clip come in the dvd of crhis no? in the dvd look so different...

  • I think the DVD version was the director's cut or something. In fact, I think the DVD contained all director's cuts, if they existed.

  • I prefer this version, I dislike the dvd version

  • Good vid.

  • Nice vid, very artsy..Hey if you like experimental electronic and glitch music, check out my vids, all feedback is appreciated

  • richard james denies the term IDM he says it would be like sayin "this is intelligent and everything else is not".

    anyway great tune

  • Well, Autechre didn't come up with the genre name either. Regardless of how stupid the name is, it still classifies a genre of music that DOES retain the "IDM feel".

  • Twisssted!

  • I want a video for Tewe :D

  • i think i saw a stormtrooper in there!

  • Aphex Twin is not IDM, not even break beat compared to this shit. It's amazing.

  • Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't Richard the one who actually came up with the term IDM?

But seriously, you can't compare artists for doing "the best IDM" when you look at how widley it varies- ranging from Squarepusher to BOC? Impossible. And I mean, Aphex Twin is like a completely different world compared to everything else... practically like its own Ganre.

  • your wrong. he didn't come up with that name. and i think this music is also called drill 'n' bass...

  • you are retarded sir

  • No he isnt. What exactly would u call his music? Drum n bass? HELL NO! Just cause yer not intelegent donsnt mean its not IDM. Daqibit is smarter than u. lol.

  • @HO2 Aphex Twin is indeed IDM, but it's also ambient, and he sometimes parodies genres as well.

  • I heard that Autechre didn't like this video. Apparently they thought it was silly. Can't see it myself. I think it's pretty great. Even a little creepy.

  • Tri Repetae is a fucking rad double disk CD! I didn't know that ae had videos for their shit, this is awesome! Super bad ass!!!

  • THEEEE SSHHITTTT..aaaaaaaa

  • So do I, Bucketroo,so do I

  • Ah, the GOOD version of this video, like the one I taped off "Amp" one late night on MTV a long time ago.

I want Chris to design more robots!

  • anything by Chris Cunningham gets 5 stars from me :)

  • this is sooooooooooo sweet

  • this is sooo wicked!
