@TheAIUK Should never have been up for grabs. Antisect tomorrow but tonight I will be off to see Bill Steers new band, the life of an international jetsetter, eh?
I auditioned for these as a bass player in 1991/92 up in LIverpool just before they recorded Pig Symphony. I played Watermelon, Silver Surfer and Disturbance with them but was pipped at the post by the female bass player they chose in the end! I think her name mas Mandy Morgan or something. Great fun at the time though!
@thatstidy Ha! You must be Steve then!! How you doing fella? Gotta say your bass line to Disturbance is brilliant! I was playing it last night actually for the first time in ages. Forgotten how great Saturnalia was too. You should get them all back together Steve I think it would be great.
i remember seeing these about a bazzillion times at the Harlow Square in Essex, used to cost like £3 to get in......armed with my 'Strange' t shirt with the chicks head on the back......saw Senseless Things there too many times, Neds, Curveball....good times
I remeber seeing these supporting neds at the royal court, defo one of the best support bands we saw. Then we saw them at liverpool uni to promote silver sufer? mad gig crowd sufing stage diving great days great band.
This is the single version - the Pig Symphony version had a much thinner mix. Most of the stuff is available on Ebay. AFAICR Watermelon wasn't on If but did feature on the American Release Zodiac Killers - a compilation of single releases and If.
Bloody hell, hello Clay. Been a long time - last time I saw you I don't think you'd learned to talk you were that young! Regards to your dad. Which one of Sploote's guitars are you doing up? Stig
Yeah I know, everytime I mention Scorpio Rising theses days people think I'm talking about Death in Vegas :-) . I had two albums, "If" and "Pig Symphony". There were versions of Watermelon on both if I remember correctly - I believe this is the Pig Symphony Version. Good to find someone else who remembers them! Cheers.
saw Scorpio Rising support the Poppies at Aston Vile Leisure Centre many many years ago

Hi Clay and Dave, Steve Soar here. I don't think we ever nailed our sound on record, come close.
The live version recorded at BBC Maida Vale for a Radio One session has Mickey belching at the end of the track.

I only have an old EP tape. I used to LOVE this song! No one had ever heard of them though.

These were a great band. Got any more of their stuff? If you have, post it up. I can't find it anywhere and all the albums seem to be deleted now.
