  • I agree.. No offense but this guy doesn't need to be given a gun at any point. Especially since he's a cop and it can get really stressful out there.

  • @bungie1209 Actually, psychologists and neuroscientists have a pretty good understanding of DID, as do people living with DID. There is a lot of information and study out there if you look for it.

  • this is sad that people have to go threw this terror....

  • The policeman is sort of like a superhero in some way, don't he? That's actually pretty cool, but I don't think he likes having multiple personalities.

  • 7:40 okay there is something more involved in this, something that science is unable to answer atm. it is beyond modern day understanding of psychology and physical science (neuroscience)

  • what if 10 yr old Johnnie was on duty and had to write a ticket to some drunk person or a dangerous person, what does Johnnie do ? He can't even write a ticket or a report......of course, you would say, the alters step up to take control but is this not crazy for him to work a job like this ?

  • The word handler, first an MKULTRA word......what are the stats of power positions having many people in them with MPD, sociopathics, narcissism and combinations there of ?

  • Who would give him a gun? No offence, but REALLY thats just ridiculous!

  • summa cum lata....i am so proud of her o_O that is so hard TT and for me, it just amazes me she has that many problems but can do so well...good motivation

  • this raises a question what is a personality and how man can be divided inside a brain

  • I could understand him working for the police department, apparently he has family or some inside hook-up for him to be serving as a cop... but maybe he could in a position that is not in the serivce of a beat cop and on the streets. He deserves to work and I could see him in some other position, but I wouldn't even agree with somebody in my own family working the streets as a cop with over 20 multiple personalities...

  • There are simply too many things that could go wrong. To me that's a set-up for failure.. How in the hell he pass a psychological test? Especially when he as MPD? He is a traumatized and abused kiid who don't even acknowledge what was done to him except for therapy...and it appears as though he is still in thrapy..if he still has multiple personalities. Something is wrong with that.

    .

  • I meant, I dont think a person with MPD, should be actively working as a cop.

  • I agree, I don't think its fair for a cop to be actively working as a cop. He has about 20 multiple personalities....I dont care that he can drive better using his other personalities and how confident and in control he is of them. Its not safe. A person sufferring from multiple personality disorder are people who are not healed from childhood trauma. Hello? whose to say he won't lapse into one of his many kid egos while in duty? Then what?

  • @iceage10ful

this is part of what makes it hard for those of us with DID. There are so many false beliefs and misunderstanding out there.

There are plenty of us that are high functioning and many of us with rules in place. For example, I do not let little alters out when caring for my family, or driving, or well..many things.

DID people are not defective..most work and many work in jobs that are quite high profile. Also, one can heal from trauma just fine while having DID. T

  • poor lady, she is clearly possesed, these therapists can not help her. what is going on here is far beyond thier understanding....

  • @mahenur How is this possession? The disorder is real. My older brother has it, and believe me, putting someone with DID through an exorcism doesn't help.

  • john i like robo-cop

  • There should be a reaction that says Weird

  • Are there any updates on this woman?

  • Is there any hope that people with this condition stop switching personalities completely?

  • @ArionaMew In my opinion I think it can be controlled but not stop completely. But this is just a guess and I am not specialized in it. But it seems logical.

  • Comment removed

  • @ArionaMew DID patients work towards integration, which is a "fusing" of each alter ego state into the core ego state. However, often patients don't want to integrate as they don't want to lost their alters. And so patients will more commonly work towards increased communication, co-operation and appreciation between all ego states and will work towards increased co-consciousness; to reduce confusion and conflict between ego states.

  • I dont have mpd. Yes I do. I lie to people about this disorder to trick them. No you dont. Yes I do, this isnt real. Your not real, your in my head. No im not. Thats what I imagine is going through their heads

  • who was Gretchens abuser and how is she now?

  • all the person with mpd were abuses when were childs?

cause sybil an this case suffer abuse

  • @GinKonaKagamiShizuma Supposedly. It makes sense too, conditional training meaning by them being abused they created personalities to forget the bad things that have happened to them. Its logical. Im not skeptic of the disorder, Im pretty good at reading people and I dont think any of them (people with this disorder) are lying. Ive noticed a lot of people with this disorder are smokers as well, I dont know if theres a connection there but thats my observation.

  • Does anyone know if there is a follow up document or program for these cases, it would be fascinating to find out how these cases continued, specifically the two women who where in far more danger.... greatly appreciated if someone can help/find it =)

  • When he said he has post traumatic stress disorder I was immediately crushed cuz I have it too. :/

  • I feel like a women would be a better psychiatrist because of the bad connection with males some of the personalities had.

  • That dog is so sweet. I'd love a dog like that :) but it shocked me the way he reacted when personalities changed...I'm just thinking that maybe the people "behind camera's veiw" were doing something to catch his attention so it'll look as though he left the room himself. I don't know...Sorry for my english :P

  • This is really freaky! I'm a student of applied psychology and of all the mental diseases that are out there, this one is the most peculiar O_o

I hope that molestor gets burned for this >:(

  • What I don't get (especially with John) is: if his personalities all have fragments of John's memories, how can they all have different names and different identities? And in any case, I feel like if one can remember what the others are doing, I don't think that should be considered multiple personalities. In any case, everyone has mood swings and do things out of the ordinary and have fragmentary memory. Okay, maybe the kid's a distinct personality, but the others...

  • @freshpinescents I am just like the cop...i know my other personalities and what they look like...i see them everyday...they are like my invisible friends who never went away...just because i am like that doesn't mean i don't have did...it's just another form of it...not everyone who has it is in danger of hurting themselves or anyone else...it's just how our mind works for our protection.

  • 11:00 looks like he's wearing a toupee. Wierd on a 14yo approx.

  • I'm sorry but I really feel an immature need to point out... that dog has freaking HUGE bollocks. Those things almost drag on the floor.

  • I get the sense that Gretchen was 100% for real, but I bet she has a long way to go. If all I'd suffered as a kid was painful oral sex being forced on me, I'd be damned grateful. Unfortunately I had much worse than that and I never 'split'. Sometimes I wish I did :-( I don't believe John though. I think he's faking and whether he is or not, he shouldn't be on the force. What if his 10yo appears while he has a gun in his hand???

  • the way they talk about him changing personalities as an officer makes him sound like its a choice

  • im a teacher and work with a vaired age and needs range of children. 10year olds are not as "childlike" ,for lack of a better term, as the personality of Jonny. So that makes me doubt that alter is real

  • @willow138

I think that it's a bit insensitive of you to accuse a man diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder of making up an alter. I've babysitted for 10 year olds before, and they can certainly act like Johnny does. Perhaps it's the childlike tone of voice that threw you off, but it is highly unlikely that John would make up a fake alter.

  • @willow138 i have mpd/did and one of my personalitys named Joanne is 8 and she acts like him but more childish, i know he aint making it up, cause people who have mpd/did dont pretend lol

  • @willow138 It's understandable with your knowledge of being a teacher you would view it that way. With knowledge of the disorder I can only explain it this way. Because there are other personalities the 10yr old isn't out all the time. So he maynot of been the child that attended school all the time ither. He may be very immature for his age. Most times not use to speaking alot as during abuse no speach or sound is allowed. I don't doubt the alter is real. I'm not judging u in anyway ither.

  • You can understand how people use to think that they were possessed, but I feel so sorry for them.

  • We shall always remain! We shall always remain! ENIGMA! =D

  • That's little bit strange that a person with such a disorder works as a policeman...

  • @Smallinsect Quite normal for someone with this condition as there is more than one personality. They also all different ages. The one who is a policeman will be the one who is able to deal with people and the outside world. Others may be in hideing for fear of abuse. Others don't talk but only write. There is so much more to this disorder than one sees in a video. These people need alot of understanding and to be dealt with in a kind and gentle way.

  • @Smallinsect The implications that a DID person on the police force with a military background are not good. It means he was not only abused but deliberately done so to create and program alters used for specific tasks. The police force would not have let his psych profile pass unless they were using him for something specifically

  • @Smallinsect : really strange... over here in Holland such a person wouldn't pass the psych-examn, for sure ;)

  • @Smallinsect I think "strange" is too soft of a term. It seems absurd and potentially dangerous. I can't understand how he gets to remain a cop despite his condition. What are the entry requirements!?

  • The fact that the dog could automatically sense the change gave me chills.

  • @Mecctacular The dog didn't sense anything automatically. The dog heard the tone of his master's voice change into a tone the master uses when the dog is allowed to run amok. My own dog would react the same way if I starting making 'happy' noises when he was contemplating doing something he would normally get a foot in the ass for (metaphorically, I don't actually kick my dog). When the owner has a deep voice, the dog knows it's time to GTFO. When his voice goes high, the dog can enter. Simple

  • @Mecctacular I think that it just notices his more confident body language.

  • "i think it's terrible how they tie them up even before something has happened.." Actually, that's the point. They restrain her before she or someone else gets hurt.

  • some country is predisposed to molesting more than others...

  • I am in the usa. in wisconsin to be exact. I found my own councler. No support groups near me.

  • where is this? I wish I could have people like that around me to help me with my mpd. they are so loving and careing. I need someone other then a counsler who seems so distant and just proffesinal

  • @mybfisapcgeek1 Hi, the video is from around 1993 and is from the USA. Where abouts are u based? Did u find ur own counsellor or were u assigned one? Maybe there are support groups for ppl with mpd or more broader mental health problems u could find and attend?

  • @mybfisapcgeek1 Did u contact the credited sources? I wish u the best luck & so sorry you suffered whatever u did to cause this. The only case I've seen in rl (that I believe) involved horrendous childhood experiences, like abuse on a remote farm, inc.being thrown into a dugout pit with snakes that may or may not have been venomous. Horrible stuff. My own childhood was enough to make most people tell me to write a book, yet I'm 'sane' supposedly. I can't imagine what happened to you. Good luck.

  • this is really creepy

  • i think it's terrible how they tie them up even before something has happened..

  • @VictimDead It's a preventative measure. If Enigma does something violent then it's already too late.
