Oh you must be a Video Game Combat expert ? sorry but this is a Assault mission, and Assault like this require concentrated gunfire which can only come from 5.56mm and 7.62mm Assault Rifles. also SMG's dont have enough calliber or muzzle velocity to penetrate med to heavy body armour. Also the Assault was conducted by Regular Army team and not Special Forces. as for you,go join the army , see some real combat before commenting. Otherwise it just makes u look ignorant.

oh and as for Night Vision back in 1999 when this battle took place. Indian Army did not have many NV equipment. And as for bombing something from air. India did bomb many locations from Air , however this Post was too close to Pakistani border and any aircraft flying in to bomb this target would have cross into Pak airspace , this would have further worsened the situation. I might not be completely accurate, since i haven't done the research myself, but a reliable source has told me a little about the kargil war. he has said that pakistan actually had the upper hand, as they were able to halt indian supplies. Indian soldiers were starving until the U.S. intervened and told pakistan to back off.

U r right Adnan.Initially Pakistan did have an advantage in the war.This was a very carefully planned operation by the Pak Army.The intruders were at vantage points in our territory.Indian Army didnt know where the Pakis had made sangars,bunkers and put heavy machine and mortar guns hidden in the hills.

From the top of the hills,our Srinagar Leh national highway could be observed and artillery fire from the Pakistan side could be directed accurately towards Indian army convoys moving on that road.Why did Pakistan plan this operation?-To cut off Srinagar from Leh thru which troops positioned in Siachen get reinforced.

Where did Pakistan do miscalculations?one-the time of execution of this plan when the peace summit was on.Two-Hope of west to force a ceasefire so that ur troops wud remain where they r.Third-overconfidence and expecting that the Indians are not going to retaliate.

i juat saw the comments.Well i remember the 7 fleet in indian ocean. Well were were not prepared in 1962. but we are now and i could not help Laugh out lould when we exploded the nuclear Bomb and CIA and FBI did not even know about it... So much for American Superirityyyyyy
