the easiest way ontht first chord is to set it up as 6/7, 4/9, 3/8 then add the pinky on 3/9 instead of having to try and strtch down to the 5th fret. works for me, hope it helps

I believe the second chord you're playing in the intro is slightly incorrect. The bass player plays the open E6 string, which covers up the guitarist playing a G# (4th fret) at the same time. If you listen closely, you can hear it in the original. Still a nice tutorial though. :)

you can move the 1st chord up the neck and play it much easier

starting 2 fret 5th string, open 4th string, 4th fret 3rd string. 4th fret 5th string, and open E, or 6th string. keeping the strings muted with you palm on the picking hand.

It's importance to notice that joe does not play a bar chord in the third chord, instead he uses his thumb, as old style hendrix did

OMG, so many ppl play it the wrong way! Thumb should mute the 6 string, and index should always stay on the second string and only change the frets! I know it's hard but it's better and more complicated to do but it sound a bit better

@mtpco That's true- it is easier but it's not how Joe wrote it. I tried to play it Your way and honestly it's loosing that depth. It's very good alternative for beginners, thou. In my opinion classicrockriffs got it right.

Try rolling each finger down in turn, rather than trying to hit the whole shape in one go, you'll see that is what I do - still a little trcky though! good luck

He has a les paul, the neck is much smaller then a Strat. So with a Les Paul its not diff. to play the first rif.
