If Canadian experience is so highly valid and sought out then how come when I get hired in an office I am asked to train Canadian educated Canadian trained Architectural Technologist on how to use AutoCAD Architecture and Revit? Canada has taken in a lot of good immigrants over the past few years, but the big problem is that our government has taken too many, to the point where it is having a negative effect on the quality of life here in Canada.

Immigrants aren't ruining Canada, it's current Canadians that are (yes, I am Canadian, but I am also a business student who has to live with reality of our current country's economic position). Although it appears that Canada is prospering (increasing Canadian dollar, oil sands, exportation of resources, etc.), our current methods of wealth creation are not sustainable in the long run - eventually we'll run out of resources and what will we do then?

Although excessive immigration has destroyed the quality of life in Canada, that is no reason to show hatred towards immigrants. Hello rauluck - The founding Canadian settlers were from Europe according to this history book sitting in front of me. It indicates that most aboriginals presently in Canada came from the USA, as they fled the American calvary. Canadians speak English for a reason, the Queens picture is on our money for a reason, and our parliamental proceedures are the same as in Britain. Is this information not the truth you talk about?

10 years ago, only Klan members spoke of "flood gates" and a "loss of Freedom of Speech for Whites".... as the population aged, the bitter old men who weren't smart enough to compete with better educated immigrants lash out.

The reality is, the US has a market of 300 million, China 1.3 Billion. Canada's 32 Million is not a large enough market. Without "3rd world immigration"... CAnada would have been a third world country.

The economic environment of Canada was way different 40 years ago during which Canada was undergoing an economic expansion through technology and capital.

The current problem is that the world is changing - in order to be competitive on an international scale (which is an absolute necessity; one cannot deny the effects of globalization) Canada needs to focus on developing skilled workers. Internationally, we barely have any corporate names out there, except maybe RBC.
