This is pure fear-mongering. Co-sleeping is NOT dangerous, and, in fact has many benefits. Bad video - I hope New York has improved their PR and their policies to advise based on reality, not opinion.

Babies are not stupid they are born with survival instincts. If something is covering their face they thrash their arms and move about.
Co-sleeping is healthier for baby than sleepnig alone as they are biologically desinged to be near their parents and when they are alone it signals a shut off syndrome. Its funny how in the west we claim babies sleeping with adults lead to death, yet in Japan (has the most sleep sharing) infant death is next to non existant. hmmm wonder why...
