  • I like your channel but Tipsybartender does this a lot better.

  • does your wife make you sandwiches after these videos? you must get hungry...

  • who is the woman behind the camera i finally want to see her

  • @HOTGIRL4010 my wife, keep watching the video's, you'll see her eventually.

  • to add more alcohol to it, after the shots have been poured you could run 151 across all of them

  • what would happen if you mixed the spirit with the juice before adding it to the shaker, would it mess up the curacao part, because it would help to give all shots a certain amount of alcohol in it

  • @atellada you'd more than likely cause half the shots to come out a brown color as the goal is to layer them so they mix as it is poured and thus leave a specific color. I say most likely because I don't know, but I'd love to know what happens so give it a try :)

  • @everydaydrinkers thanks a lot, ill tell you what happens

  • @everydaydrinkers i´d also like your opinion on a shot that came out of a long night at a bar,

you got to give the shot glass a salt edge, kind of like a margarita and layer lime syrup or sour mix 1/3 of the shot glass and 2/3 white tequila with a dash of tabasco or any hot sauce in between the layers what i also tried was putting a dash of tabasco on my hand instead of in the drink and lick it of after the shot

  • you talk to much!!! get to the point, you can make these vids in like 2 mins

  • @asama32 sure could! never will.

  • can you use Malibu cocnut in it???

  • the reason why it layers its because of the density spirits are lighter then water and liquors. so the idea is to put hevier stuff on the bottom and add colour to clear spirits and a little water so it gets denser.

  • @xXPapicusXx correct, but it's much easier to do in a shot glass without ice to break the surface layer. We've got a ton of those layered shots done.

  • skyy john's is better!!

  • nice vid..while they look nice, overall do you think they taste good?

  • @frenchfriesmen if you like low-potency sweet shooters, yes.

  • Here is how I do it, and I get 8 shooters out of it.

    1. Pour a little coconut rum in the bottom of 8 shot glasses

    2. Pour grenadine directly into an empty tin being careful not to touch the sides.

    3. Fill tin with ice.

    4. Pour OJ into tin (using an ice cube as a spoon to layer) fill to about 4/5ths full

    5. Pour an ounce of B.C. over the ice rather quickly cap and pour steady into the glasses. not too slow and not too fast.

I won a flair bartending competition by ending with this trick!

  • Derrick is a genius.... great work on this one Derrick....

  • I do enjoy the banter between you and the lady camera person. I love this channel. Makes me want to have a fully stocked bar. Try out a drink a day.

  • that was amazing man good job

  • I tried making this last night.....didnt work out. Looked like merky river water. It tasted good though lol.

  • @hastabajoh not normally, but that's because I've got no place to go. We don't drink that much, so we're not really intoxicated, a few sips and we're done.

  • the girl filming should stfu

  • You dont have to justify each step!

  • I'm sorry but da way u r makin it is not rite...!! U dun've to float while pourin ur liquers in da shaker n one most important thing it should b 7 colours....if u dun't lyk it thn check my vid n u can see...Cheers!!

  • @asantustabalak I'm not 100% sure what you just said, but I'm fairly certain this recipe can be done in any number of ways and get a good result. There is no written recipe for this, I've searched a lot of places to find it, so if you have the written recipe I'd love to see it (esp. from the original author of the design). Otherwise, mine is just as correct as yours ;-)

  • @everydaydrinkers He actually has a pretty good video of him making this rainbow shooter, too bad there is no measures. I don't know a lot about free pouring but it looked like ½ ounce gredatine, ?? ounces OJ, 2 ounces of vodka and ½ ounce of blue curacao. I need to try this when I get my hands on some gredatine.

  • fruity booty shooter.

  • Gay pride shooter.

  • Cool affect!!

  • I'm wondering if keeping the Blue C in a freezer or mixing it with some ice cold Rumplemintz will help it to float. Rump has a very low gravity value and may help keep the blue from sinking. I'll try this at work tonight and see what I can come up with.

  • Why do women always argue about colours, lol

  • Wont some of the shots taste like there is no alcohol ???

  • @TaTeRoxx more than likely, but this is a single serving :) You drink them all. No sharing! :)

  • @everydaydrinkers I think the concept is awesome, but i dont know if id like to drink all that. haha

    Thanks for the cool trick!

  • @TaTeRoxx yeah, this isn't practical. It's more for "holy crap" factor.

  • @everydaydrinkers It actually is pretty practical. I have made a lot of money of this drink. Girls love shooters and it only takes a minute to make.

  • The voice at the start makes my ears bleed.

  • This is what I do for the drink.

For each of the shot glasses, I put in 1/4 - 1/3 ounce of clear liquor first, and no liquor in the mixes. If you're using 1oz pony shooters the separation is most obvious... I'll use like 8-10 of them.

What I do is use more ice, preferably smaller cubes. And my experience is you get a better separation of colors that way.

    Hope this helps.

  • how many oz ofr blue curacao?

  • @ant0ine2 "just enough," it's hard to measure it out, but I'd say use 1/2 oz. or less (too much makes the rainbow contain too much blue)

  • derrick can you please make a dirty cowboy!

  • what if u add some simple syrup to the curacao to thicken it up ?

  • @MKEdubstep Not sure, but I bet it with by super sweet and syrupy!

  • Please if you like this video like and favorite, also subscribe, Derrick and Jen are very entertaining! : P

  • We make this drink in our bar and the trick is to use less ice! no one wants a warm drink so chill the boston shaker while you make it, in an ice bucket,. the reason for this is because the ice will interfere with the layering properties of each liquid as it melts, so use little to no ice, and layer with a professional bar spoon to ensure the liquids react as little as possible in the mixing glass when poured! thats just how me make it and we get about 6 -7 different colours

  • i think you drink too much haha :D

  • this is pretty neat.

  • Your wife is annoying. Good job.

  • Thanks Derrick; this cleared up alot for me! Best Youtube video I've seen on this thus far! My suggestions would be to premix the rum in the Oj shake/stir then add it in the same order with 12ml of grenadine and 20ml of Blue Curacao. The more shot glasses the better! I'd say if you had used 8 with more Curacao you would have nailed it!

  • side commenting chick is annoying, i just want to seet his shit get done!

  • with what i can replace blue curacao? pleaseee :D?

  • 3:42 LOL LOL 44444444444444444 LOL

  • another way:

First of all put a little bit more grenadine at the beginning then mix on a separated glass your clear alcool (rhum) and OJ juice. Slam a bit of it on the grenadite to sort of mix it. Then, afterward do your spoon trick...but only use half the OJ juice. Next, you use, the same with pinnaple juice with either rhum again or amaretto...depends if your fan of amaretto or not. Do the same layering technique...and finish with the blue curacao.smashing helps to get a even rainbow

  • if i am right that shots has not much alcohol

  • rainbow fail!!... lol...

  • thank you derrick! i got it perfect the first time after watching this :)!

Ive got a perfect shot for u to try!

_The Galliano hot shot_ or just hot shot.

    equal parts of

    galliano

    hot coffe

    whiped cream or ice cream

layered in that order! rly rly good shot :) gl

  • @ersare thanks. I don't think we've done that yet with Galliano before.

  • how hard is this to make, am also a everyday bartender lol

  • @dangerdakota You saw me make it, that's as hard as it gets. But, perfecting may take time.

  • Tried it a few times yesterday at work.

MY first shot was like 5 browny shots. But then i managed to make it about right.

My recommandation is to use really strong alcohol like genever and not layering it, otherwise you end up with no alcohol in the bottom shots (hard to sell an alcohol-free shot), but the use the spoon to kinda layer the curacao.

Thanks for the video anyway. Keep up the good job!

  • @matnumber1 Yeah, the last few can be mostly grenadine, but if you're serving them all to one person they'll get the right alcohol, it will just be in the middle. It's really just a cool looking thing to build out for someone. Some folks do like the strong drinks (maybe some 151 will help) while others like the light juicy versions, build for the right person and they'll love you for it I'm sure.

  • you are trying to put too much science into the art of bartending.

just let the flair of bartending be.

keep your bald brainless head in the virgins club.

  • @dinkleman07 I was following ya up until the needless insults. Intentionally hurting someone that put time and energy into a video... I'm sad for you. Could have been such a good comment too.

  • @dinkleman07 Don't hate yourself because you don't have the bartending abilities to make drinks. All you do is come on here to bitch at everyone else. Must make you feel like a pretty big man as well. Hope to be like you when I grow up. Tough guy.

  • Rob Schneider? :o Only without hair and wearing glasses

  • why does the woman have to belittle and correct you constantly? You're doing a fine job.

  • @sogoodforyou because it's my wife and it's what we do :) That's part of our "thing" :)

  • @sogoodforyou yeah i agree!

  • Wow great job in explaining but god you are being nerdy doing it! :D

  • With most of the contents being fruity. Would it be good to use some 151. Because a shot is suppose to be strong.

  • amazing!

  • Umm Just Wondering.

Is There A Technique To Layering?

Like Does One Of The Alcohols Density Have To Lighter Than The Other Ones For Them To Layer?

    Thanks !

  • @MissKnickKnacks There is a little density mechanics at play here, for instance, the grenadine will always be at the bottom and, as we've learned from a tequila sunrise, orange juice will set well (with a bit of blending in color) on the grenadine. The core spirit (vodka/rum/gin) sits okay on top of the orange juice especially with enough ice to slow it down from sinking, I believe it's there just to slow down the blue curacao as it sinks.

The rest comes down to speed of blue sinking into it.

  • Very good videos but could you write your recipes down? For people who dont speak english that good its very hard to understand every word you say...

  • @CeRnOtA sure thing (scribble scribble), done! :) Watch the end of the video, every video has the recipe at the end with measurements.

You can also checkout my wiki, it's called MixDrinkipedia and you just have to put a dot com on the end of that URL to get there :)

  • @everydaydrinkers ah wonderful, thank you!

  • At Rips in Cabo, where this shot originated, they have metal tins with a single metal step on an angle in the bottom that causes the grenadine to rise over as the angle increases. This is why it's impossible to replicate the effect of their specialty perfectly. One of the better attempts I've seen though, good job

  • @Pepsiaddicto well that would make it easier, good to know it's not extremely difficult because I'm crappy at doing it :)

  • Thank you sir, thank you for these, i was wondering how to make Rainbow shooter.

I try it once but i got some brown thing.

  • @SlavaRodu LOL.

  • This is fuckin awsome!

  • WOW! This is totally awesome!! Fantastic Job!

  • your the best man :D

  • Nice job on this rainbow shooter! I never knew such an interesting shooter recipe actually existed..Damn makes me wish i had blue curacao..!

  • this is really impressive

  • @seanusmcmaximus yes it is, which is why it had to be reverse engineered and created for public consumption :)

  • hell yeah!!

  • If you pour in the OJ first and then the grenadine you'll get a more of a "sunrise-effect". You kinda layerd the OJ on top of it.... and I prefer to use Midori (instead of blue curacao) and Malibu. Great first try thou, keep 'em coming ;D

  • OMG THANK YOU man you rock i will try it this week and i will feel GREAT :)

  • Wow...I was not expecting that at all. Very cool!

  • @ilikeyou0385 Thanks :)

  • just awesome :O

  • luv ur videos

  • @WestCoastGfoelife thanks! :)

  • your the best :D

  • @fredrik871223 no no, you're the best.

  • @everydaydrinkers thx Derrick :D

  • @everydaydrinkers yay for grammar!!

  • you should fill the shaker with ice to the top ;) and this will "replace" your "spoon" : P

  • finally a legit recipe for this!!

now i can finally make this without guess-a-mating

    thx mate!

  • @DwNecrid too legit to quit, yes.

  • cool man ! :D

  • finally man!!! you rock :) can't wait to try this

  • @darkmetallica it's been a long time coming.
