(not a jump scare, just an "oh my god what the fuck run" kind of thing) One of the best horror movies I've seen, and I've seen A LOT.

technically it is :p The Ring Curse (a virus actually) spreads to those you most love as they're the ones who will take the curse off of you if you're to survive. Its a clever metaphor for both STDs and in Sadako's case, an inability to naturally have a child. Of course there's a dozen different layers to the story. This is only one you're pointed out =D

Honestly, the original version "Ringus" is much better than the remake "The Ring". Many of you, americans are here disrespecting the original one and thinking that you are the herous of the movie just because of your remake. But, if you think well, you will discover that you just made a horror movie because the japaneses made it first. You are terrible dependent of the ideas of japanese in make horror movies. Not to mention that none of them carry as much emotion as the originals do, which takes away a great deal from the effect the film has on the viewer. Our films tend to be more passive, while the Japanese originals tend to be writted & directed in such a way that you actually care about the characters. All in all, the originals just can't be beat. lol
