Quick techie question.. I know the worm drives lock with no load but does the dig system lock the trans for the given axle or simply disengage the drive and let the worm do the locking?

Yes it is very capable out of the box.You just need to take it completely apart and grease,"deshim" the axles so that it won't fry your electrics from being too tight.Crawling is an addiction just to warn you.Enjoy!

totaly woth it, i have twice as much into my ax-10 and it stil wont crawl as good with a good set of tires like panther cougars your rig wiil prefourm to its fullest

I just bought one of these and i am running it with the Novak Goat brushless system and i have huge tourqe problems! the tires get pinched and it gets stuck because the motor wont pull it out in addition to that it has excessive temperatures at the end of each run! i was running it with an 18t pinnion gear and called novak to ask them about my problem, and they told me to gear it lower so now i am runing it with a 12t pinion gear and i have the same problems as before

Well considering it is a worm gear axle setup it cant roll free no matter what.But the worm gear has the MOST clearance underneath and it is full positive dig style.They work well as long as you limit the steering not break the cvds.

Losi now has updated cvds that are shipping with all the new kits. Also if you bought an older one just call them and they will send em out free of charge to you.

Yah I wish it would freewheel too but its not possible with worm gear axles. Too bad though.
