Merc suit is still fine imho. Sure as hell beats the bandit jacket, which I was originally afraid to wear because I thought everyone would shoot me on site. I hate it when I overestimate the devs...

@chuckeepooper Because you've patched the game previously. If you install the original game and don't add any patch you'll find a stalker suit as seen above. With any patch added you'll get a merc suit unfortunately:(

Another good glitch: without patches installed your suit won't suffer any damage. At least it didn't happen to me;)

In patch v1.0001 the Stalker suit was removed and replaced with a Merc suit, which is still tons better then the default bullshit. Anyways karper4life has the alternate way to get the stalker suit early on.

Unfortunetly. This armour was fixed by patch 1.0001, I think, anywho it's only merc armour now. Which is Semi-Good compared to the Stalker armour. An easy way to get the stalker armour is to follow the main quest until agroprom. Once you complete Agroprom, you get free stalker armour. My advice is, just pass the agroprom, go to dark valley help the duty people there then go to the bar assuming the duty

let you through the gate before the bar (otherways you can kill them all and get through, but that takes a great deal on health). Once you get to the bar you can go straight north to get some weapons from the Freedom when Duty Ambush them. Once you have an LR300 or Lr430 or something (An M4 essentially). Go back to agroprom, do not deal with the underground sewers (Strelok's Stash) seeing as you'll run into a Bloodsucker and a Controller. Once you get the documents which are on the 3rd story

in a small desk you'll see a white box, go to it and press f. Some Military Reinforcements will come, so be prepared. Anywho, from all that you get a free stalker suit.

In strelok's stash underground, behind the pipe where u got to jump on if u want to get back to the ladder, is a box, in that box is also a stalker suit :D

thanks. if you go to the bloodsucker village there si a house with a hole in it. climb down the ladder and you will find a bulldog 6 grenade launcher, and 9 grenades.

no the duty quest is to get the grenade launcher from the freedom base.

you are right, but the guy at the Freedom base tells you (thanks to a little Vodka) where he actually lost it, so you have to pick it up in the bloodsuckers village. Maybe is it my version of the game which is different from yours, but that's the way it happened in mine. To enter the Freedom base armory i had to wait for a blowout so the guard just ran away for safety.

what mod are you using. blowouts dont happen in normal game, so i modded it to the orblivion lost mod. i have completed it around 7 times in normal STALKER, and havent completed it in the orblivion lost mod yet.

I've found you CAN get close enough to knife the crate, too. Saves two rounds of pistol ammo, which is something that early in the game...

@RAbbi74 Not really because if you run to the right of the camp and into bushes (Hard to explain exactly where but it's hard to miss) There's two crates with 400 pistol rounds in them

thanx for the tip man! And by the way, there is a silenced pistol in a box in the "cargo tank" before the bridge, where you see a wounded stalker. Not much, but it is a little better than normal pistol!

Didn't find out about this right away. But I became aware of it just before starting a new game for the 3rd. The first two times I didn't pass half of the game, though. In my last time, I was patched up and packing a good mod package. Fakies mod took out suit damaging. Maybe it's a bit too convenient, but the wearing out kinda bugged me.

Didn't know a Stalker suit was there pre-patch.
