i went there a few days ago, at this time of year it is very hot, so take an umbrella or hat, went into to tutenkarmen's tomb, its a great experience, mind out of the maket traders who are in your face trying to sell you things, had about 6 of them around me at once on the way back,.

Memnon Colossos..Luxor, hum, representing Pharaoh Amen-hotep III, but why 2 statues representing the same Pharaoh??? Come on, those aren't Human Faces , that's why the "faces" were destroyed.

That was the most disappointing part of the trip to Egypt. At Giza we were hounded by vendors and were chased by men on camels forcing us to ride for pictures. There were unrelenting even though we say no, emshey, we were not able to gaze at the colossal pyramids because of the irritating vendors.

The sad part of it was I tripped at the entrance of the Valley of the Kings and hurt my knees. That was the only sad part and the vendors. My friend said they just needed a sale. But if they did not hound us I could have bought a lot, Instead I ended up buying at the cruise ship instead of the vendors who really needed to sell. I realy enjoyed the trip to your country, amazing Pyramids, Luxor and Karnak, spectacular Abu Simbel. The trip was worth it. I had the money I would come back

That was the one thing I didn't like about my trip to Egypt in 2008 (I've started putting videos of it here on YouTube)... the local vendors at the Pyramids, the little shops they catch you at as you leave major sights, and at the bazars. Well the bazar in Aswan wasn't bad, they were more laid back and mostly left you alone. @Neilfan12

It was still an unforgettable experience. Even better than Greece (except for Kalambaka and the Parthenon). The sellers at Abu Simbel were the same, unrelenting, but once I said emshy, they went away.

Yes, Egypt was an awesome experience... it was my dream vacation (had always wanted to go). Those sellers are quite relentless... one even grabbed me by the arm and pulled me over to his tent/stand. Have you checked out the two Egypt videos I've made so far (there's more to come)?

Thanks, I do not know why the video stops. I fell on my knees (got badly injured) at the entrance to the Valley of the Kings). I only saw one tomb and rested in one those covered stores, and a boy stood in front of me selling something, I said a hundred times "no," he went away after I said emshy.

Nice hot (of course =P) much sand cool places to visit where i was we could swim in the red sea and see dolphins we got to se karnak tempel in Luxor there we saw poles hight than our house and we saw even higher pyramids in cairo also they said if you took one minute for each artefct in the egyptian musuem iw would take nine month :-O

Its pretty dark and flash can damage the paintings. I saw a German guy who got caught taking pictures and he was made to delete them off his digi camera. quite funny to see. google "theban mapping project" for all the pictures youll ever need

Yes the Las Vegas Hotel is Named After Luxor, Egypt.

Luxor is in the southern Part of Egypt. Now The pyramids are In Cairo, Egypt which happens to be the Capital of Egypt, also know as Memphis.

The name pyramid comes from Egypt, Memphis is Cairo.
