You can also play it n 3d (it's made of cubes, cubes are inherently 3d).

The default textures are meant to be reminiscent of old pixel-art games. If you don't like it, you can grab an HD texture pack and it starts looking photo realistic.

As far as being outdated, it's not. It's an RPG with an unlimited world size that is fully destructible and crafting that rivals most major games.

@Frostbain 3D as in on my 3d (with glasses) tv. The only reason i would play a RPG would be for the story line, and well minecraft seems cheezy.

And rivals most major games, like what? world of warcraft, diablo, fallout, elder scroll (those are just some major rpg's)...I play games for realistic graphics and player vs player combat.

@Frostbain First things first, Minecraft is not an RPG, RPG stands for ROLE PLAYING GAME, and believe it or not, you cant role-play as the only god damn person in the world.

Second, world isn't unlimited size, there is an end of the world where things get glitchy as hell, called the farlands.
