"Mormons receive much more persecution than the queer population."
Really? I understand my comment to come isn't proof to the contrary but do you think Mitt Romney (Mormon) would have any chance of becoming the President of the U.S.A. if he were openly gay?
The number of absurd comments on Youtube is staggering.
Wow! The comments on this video in themselves prove how needed the Soulforce campaign is, and how indoctrinated some people can become because of their religious beliefs / the beliefs of the school they attend. This in itself is a testimony.
claveldelaire no the church has right to not allow gays in their school they are private schoools. If you want a school that allows gays then go find one.Next what are you going to do protest in front of some ones house cause they will not allow gays in their house.BYU is chuch and private property and can say who and who can't go in its schools.
@joshdonat I believe God sent His son to redeem us from all sins. Loving another is not a sin. Sex is the sin. Just as sex is sinful without the thought of procreation between a man and a woman..... so be careful what you say about the one and only God and the Bible...READ IT !
@italianguy2011 First of all ... way to be four years late on a reply to my post.
Second, not only have I read the bible - lid to lid - but I teach it daily. You, sir, clearly lack an understanding of the collection of books yourself.
While God did send His son, Jesus Christ, to redeem from sin, the challenge for us is to avoid sin in the first place. As an authorized representative of Christ, I continue to feel comfortable with the comments I made four years ago.
Also ... for the record ... sex is not only about procreation. Sex between a man and a woman, legally wed under the laws of God, is actually a commandment. Man and woman are commanded to cleave together, and become as one flesh. In no other way is that commandment better kept than through intercourse.
Homosexuality is a gross act and a sin on par with beastiality, Biblically speaking.
While I cannot condone what some of my fellow students have said -- and I apologize sincerely for the disrespect some have shown -- I must admit this move was merely a stunt to get some attention, and anyone who puts emotion aside for a moment to listen to reason would see that.
While I am a liberal in my social and political views, this is an area I cannot step to the left. Men and women complement each other mentally, emotionally and physically. They are made to fit together, quite literally.
Ok, why the hell go to BYU-Idaho one of the most sober, conservative strict schools in this country. Plus, you know you are going to start trouble there.
Your trips are only to get attention and cause problems, you know you weren't going to change anything at BYU-Idaho, if you want to be gay keep it to yourself, you didn't get driven out of states at gunpoint like mormons did. stop complaining
Mormons receive much more persecution than the queer population. Mormons just learn to deal with it and decide not to allow themselves to be offended. It's a choice one can make. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve...
Your video failed to mention the arrests of members in your group. These arrests were made for violating trespassing laws administration had warned Soulforce of prior to their visit. Students didn't want to be seen because their words could have easily been edited to show support for the homos. This was not a respectful visit, it was an attempt to flare tempers in order to further this groups agenda of showing non-tolerance for their decisions.
If they believe in no Homo's, let them have their no homo space. Why does everyone have to except in what u believe? Its about respect here. If you homos want respect, you gotta give some. You think that just cause youre gay gives you all the right in the world to play your pity violin. Get OVER IT!! your gay, we know. dont like the college, go to a different one. no big deal. Stop trying to make the world all about u.
Doesn't the church try to "make the world" about its own doctrine by having educational institutions and trained representatives to convinece more people about it ... again worldwide? Let Soulforce express their opinion and have an open dialogue.
To know how the church stands on gay and les. visit lds(dot)org and type in whatever you want and get the church's answer. If anything you "soulforce" are discriminating us because we are mormon..mabey we should start a mormon force.o wait there was one, it was called the mormon pioneers being driven away because of mobs, and don't forget about the extermination order that the Governor in Missouri issued. So don't whine and complain w/ your little video that you have it so bad.
amazing!!! It really addresses some big issues that the church of latter day saints and BYU are so closed minded about. The people who have commented this video below me have made such negative and aggressive comments towards the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and transgender community. God teaches love and compassion, not disgust and hatred. I am shocked and appalled at the way people refer to homosexuals as sinful for their actions. STOP BEING SO IGNORANT!!!!!!!!EUGH. times are a changing
God also teaches us that being gay is not the way he wants us to be. We can love them but strongly disagree with their actions, which is the case here.
People should also know that as students at BYU and BYU-Idaho, we made the polocies a few years ago. As curent students we agree to the honor code and agree to live by it. If we wanted to be gay we would go to a school that is open to that. We just simply believe its not the way Heavenly Father wants us. We dont hate gays, we just dont want to join them.
Most of my opinions have been stated but, of all the schools out there what did you expect by going to BYUI? Nobody even knew about it unless their roommates told them.
That's far from the truth actually. I go to school at BYU Idaho and I was here when they came. The school sent an e-mail out to every student and faculty member, telling us that Soulforce was coming.
Have conversation, have dialog.... Met a thousand people on my mission that just wanted "dialog" The great thing about this university is, if you don't like the polocies...then LEAVE! It's pretty simple. It's a private college and can do what ever it wants.
I'm currently a student at byui. I feel great pity for you so called homosexuals. I'm not saying that because I'm better than you, I just think that some unfair treatment/abuse, in your pasts, has confused you and left you treating yourselves unfairly. I wish you the best of luck in finding some small measure of peace in this life, and the next. Remember YOUR Heavenly Father (aka God) loves you, and doesn't hate you. He hates the sin not the person doing the sin.
wait, so you guys are there saying that the lds religion is tearing apart families? doesn't that seem a bit backward? It seems to me that Homosexuality is making families nonexistant. Seriously, I'm fine with ya'll being what you are, but that, was, frankly, a stupid idea, and i bet those two girls are the only 2 people that REALLY wanted you there.
i dont even know why you guys would even waste your time coming here...most of us really dont care what you have to say...just a waste of airspace.. obviously a majority of you guys spent time in jail for steping on our campus..
Dont waste your time. Mormons belief that homoseuality is a sin. Period, end of story. If you donk like it go to another school. Mormons need to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough!!!
So emotional. You talk about families. You should see the boys on my street with two moms. Ever seen a child without a father in that situation? Emotionally starved for a Daddy's love. This is a private university that supports a family with a father and a mother as the ideal; they are not going to "encourage" dialogue if the end goal is to encourage homes where there are not both a father and a mother.
Perfectly said, thank you. I think people who choose the gay lesbian lifestyle and then want to raise children is completely selfish and without consideration for the children's wellbeing. Heterosexual couples often have their own issues, but the facts all show that children need both a mother and father. If homosexuality were natural, then how would children ever be born? Where is the natural law?
People dont "chose" to be gay. and whats selfish is people getting pregnet and throwing the baby in a trash can beacuse they dont want to raise it when your LGBT you have to fight to even have children and if they're willing to fight to have children those children are going to have a better life. and what about single parent families are the parents selfish beacuse the child doesn't have a mother or father?
what the eff does having kids have anything to do with this? Maybe people dont chose to be gay, but they sure can choose to act on it. Some people are born with the desire to kill and be violent... doesnt make it right. We're all born with weakness and trials to overcome them and be stronger people for it.

Please stay away from our school, harassing students, trespassing on our grounds and littering your photographs all over our beautiful campus.

If you are truly about finding faith in God, and believe in the God of the Bible, investigate the beliefs you have.
You'll find God rejects the actions you're begging to have. God is NOT an existentialist in any whit.
Stop trying to turn Him into one.
