HOLY MSP! I've been looking for this tape forever! The old library had a copy, but is that thing out of print or what? It was VHS and I can't find a way to buy from PBS... hey can you upload a DVD quality rip to mininova?
I cant seed dude. I get letters from comcast. It was on last week on ch17 (part 2) so you might be able to get one. Or else tell them to give you programing reminders by email.
Well that's weird. I wasn't really a fan of the second one though. Old local celebrities and dance halls are just boring subjects. Maybe Comcast is afraid the first one will piss off to many people.
I work and live in downtown Minneapolis and it's just unbelievable how many great old buildings were torn down in the early 1960's under the guise of "urban renewal"!
The number one objective of the "Gateway Renewal" project of the early 1960s was to get rid of the old Gateway slum (yes, Minneapolis once had slums! LOL), especially the old Washington Avenue skid row, which was probably the worst skid row in the midwest in the 1950s. Old Photos of that district before urban renewal are available on the Minnesota Historical Society's website.
Actually, the Mall of America is built on the site of the old Met Stadium. The old Mets Sports Center to the north of that site is mostly still nothing but a damn parking lot with not even a hint that thousands of sport fans fans once cheered their lungs out there.
Actually, the old site of the Met Sports Center is now an Ikea. 20 years ago, I graduated from high school at the Met Center. Who knew that some day, I might be able to buy goofy furniture with names I couldn't correctly pronounce without first biting my tongue?
The music is Carmina Burana.

Some of the demolished buildings were gorgeous - it's sad to see them gone in an instant. Very nice video, though.
