Wow! that was some ride...What mods were done to that machine? The video was on a stock 2005 R1, I was running 1:17.4 when I was clear with the camera on the tank, but my best was 1:16.2 ... 1:14 is awsome!!! I have just started using my 2006 FZ1 on the track as my R1 was stolen, I have some tuning mods done and the suspension and so far, I have hit 1:16.9 with it...I figured I could possibly get into the 1:15's when I get used to the size of it...that's nothing compared to a 1100 GSXR though!
Putnam is home track for me. The 1100 was stock engine with a jet kit and a pipe (prolly 120 hp if I was lucky) but had good suspension (5 years fine tuning it). The main Michelin tire guy was there (a national weekend) and he was trying to get me to switch tires and he let me try a set. Turned a 14 on last lap and I even let off at dead bear because of big crash in front of me. Should of been a 13. I couldnt bust the rear loose. I tried. It just stuck. You are going really well. THX for the vid
I was running 1:19's behind the GSXR but if you look close, I was running mid 1:17's when I was clear. You are running good times on stock tires! I had a friend who achieved 1:21's on his SV650... you'll be flying!
I was there this was a awesome ride! He couldnt even get all the way over the tank cause the camera was in the way. and if you watch the last go around you'll see the BLACK FLAG... Those bikes dont know how to run on two wheels....
I ran a 1:14 there on a pig superstock 1100 GSXR in WERA Superstock back in 2000. Big Fun.
