We have street kids as young as 9 in the US. I work w/ street kids. Often kids are abused but aren't put in foster system. They sleep in zoos, parks, friends houses, garages, etc. Many join gangs in the ghetto as young as 10. Many foster kids are abused or there's not enough homes so they are put underage in prisons w/out committing a crime, to some hide on the streets. It's an issue in the suburbs too. It's very well hidden.
