Do you have any air bags or all suspension... Buddy of mine has a duramax that has the same hauler.. His leaf springs bent in the opposite direction... And his suncoast stage v shifts really hard... Your truck seem is to hold alot better than his...lol... Nice vid....
It is not getting the load moving that is the issue, but controlling the weight in real world conditions. Wind, rain, snow, wild animals in the roads. Ideally, the truck pulling the trailer should be heavier than the trailer. I pull my 42 foot toy hauler with a Kenworth T2000. Trailer weighs about 18,000 and the truck weighs 19,820. Those are safe numbers.
I agree 100%. Some of the loads these guys are pulling scares the heck out of me. Sure the truck can get it rolling but what about braking and emergency maneuvers?
@Garymayo your truck is designed to have a gvwr of 80000 lbs so its towing 3 times its weight so its the same reasoning there too. so in order to pull 60000 it should way 60000 that makes no sense at all.
@alittlefield93 Look my comment was in response to a comment from a guy using a kenworth T2000 for hauling a camper which is a big rig meant to have a gvwr of 80000 lbs. Hes saying the trucks weight should equal the towing weight which makes no sense at all.
those 6.7's are pices of shit! worst kind of emissions managment system ever hands down. other diesel Co. have use the dpf's as well but cummins really droped the ball on the 6.7.
@bigvan98 truck would most likely hold 5th gear until a steady speed is set, than they usually go into overdrive (6th). But it all depends on road/weather conditions, weight and even the drivers right foot.....

@pytheus77007 If you are planning on buying a new HD Diesel truck, please buy a Chevrolet 2500/3500 HD Duramax or a 2012 Cummins ram which now has the 6.7 HO engine with best in class torque! The 6.7 Powerstroke doesnt have a good powerband and sturggles with loads. Yet the Cummins and Duramax love loads. Not to mention, FOrd is likely to develope major porblems with the 6.7 like past Powerstrokes had.
@Motorfordtoyota International is the one who made the problems, the new 6.7 is built from the ground up from ford, it will not be the same as before. New designers are in hands. But I dont know anything about the power.
easily especially with a 5th wheel. Figure roughly a 43 ft Rv like this weighs about 15K depending on the set up of the truck it can have 16.5K conventional towing capacity. Your only loading approx. 1.5k 10% tongue weight (given the tripple axles and fifth wheel setup) in the back nothing is impressive about the vehicle taking off or sitting level with this little load. Only thing with these is they love cross winds where a dually helps.
Fifth wheels actually run 15-25% tounge given axle number of trailer more axles the lower the tong weight %. Travel trailers regardless of towing method which this is are set up to give a 11-12% tounge weight conventional or fifth wheel. I simply gave the 10% calculation since it made math a little easier and 150-300 lbs on a 15k trailer isn't going to make a difference when truck payloads these days are 3k+.
you want a heavy load to see how the truck sits loaded coventional tow a spool of utility wire on a short trailer or a fully loaded dump trailer with dirt this will test your rig. Fifth wheel towing no problem hell f250's have a payload of 4300lbs now while dually 350's have a payload up to 7100 now. Hell new 150's would beable to 5th wheel this thing around equip right they have a 3k payload rating.
these are childish owners who think there trucks are impressive for towing a triple axle camper and how they sit. These things are very light given there size. Tow a 43ft sail boat or yatch that weighs 20K+ now thats impressive. You'd be amazed at what light duty trucks can tow just with helper springs/bags, WD kits and brake controllers. Its simply amazing.
@pytheus77007 3500 or 350 the 2 series truck would not handle this if this guy looked up the specs on his truck this may be wrong even most people think just cuz its a larger truck there legal but that is NOT the case ever time
@pytheus77007 Unless you mean a dually, there is no difference between an F250 and an F350 other than 2" taller spring blocks in the rear. Even the springs themselves are the same.
@MotelCambodia I would think 3:73's would be a real hard load on the tranny and would spike your EGT's on hills. 4:10's would be better suited for this monster
hey nice rig man how much did that dodge run you im lookin at a 11 mega cab lariat 6.7 2500 and the sticker is $49,990....seems alot just for a truck thow.
First off what an awesome set up.Im writing you to get info on your MPG and Range when pulling that trailer. I work for a company that uses box trucks and im trying to convince my boss to get 3 or 4 ram 3500's and about six trailers. But i need some hard numbers to persuade him. thanks for your help.
@nkrooner Thanks. The MPG sucks big time 7.5 mpg fully loaded across Nevada to So Calif on 395. I was near 28000 LBS I would been better to pull it with a peterbuild they get better MPG ,Empty truck by it self is about 13 to 14 MPG.
Good power nice tow rig if you don't mind spending big bucks on fuel.
@MotelCambodia haha at work i drive a 2005 Dodge 2500 Power Wagon edition. i pull a 26 foot open featherlite car trailer and put old classic muscle cars on it. when i went from MD to NC 9 hour trip i avraged about 8 miles to the gallon, this is a hemi one. when i went to heagerstown md with an empty load no trailer, 1 hour from where i live i got 10,. i feel sorry for the GM who pays gas in that thing. haha towing with the other trailer 26ft. closed trailer with car in it i get 6 if im lucky.
@MotelCambodia i got a dpf delete tuner on my 08 2500 6.7 and i am getting average 19-21 mpg and with a loaded 24 ft enclosed car hauler im getting 14-15 mpg i know its no where near that size but just some more numbers for ya....and before the dpf delete unloaded i was getting 15-17mpg
@nkrooner our 06 3500 dually gets around 19-20 mpg unloaded in town!!! towing our 40 foot raptor fifth wheel we've gotten 15 mpg. usually we get around 12 or 13 towing it. hope this helps
I have an 2007 6.7 2500 mega cab can I pull the same ? cause I'm looking at buying a toyhauler also what size would be good for me cause I want a big toyhauler
@Meximelt5150 in this Video there no air bags the truck and trailer are brand new . I put a set on to adjust for different loads but with this trailer loaded the tongue weight goes down some. As for leagal yes They will look at the GVWR ratings of the truck and trailer that add up to 29100 LBS. The axle ratings for the truck are higher then the GVW of 10100 listed on the tag . but Im still under all the ratings of the trailer and truck My other video I was at 28000 and legal
I have a 4-gauge pod in my F-550, installed on the A-pillar. It provides easy monitoring for my transmission temperature, boost levels for my turbo, fuel pressure, and exhaust gas temperature (EGT's).
Towing at highway speed, traveling uphill, and traffic can all generate lots of heat inside your transmission.
Cost of gauges: around $200
Cost of transmission rebuild because you didn't have gauges: $3,000+
Feel free to email me questions. I basically speak diesel :)
Yes, these are meant for doing serious work, but considering the price tag on that beast, you want it to last a long time. Gauge pods are (IMHO) one of the most important mods for trucks that do work. Towing heavy loads puts a tremendous amount of stress on the transmission. Trans fluid gets hot, and if it gets too hot, it breaks down, and can destroy your trans. A trans temp gauge can tell you if your transmission is getting hot, and therefore, is a great for early detection.
@hunglo1967 this is the biggest trailer you may find not much places sell them bigger then 43 foot. . mmmm I would think you could easy see its not a dual rear wheel.
I find it does just fine with single rear wheels. Try R&L RV on 95 good people there.
They're a 'must-have' for trucks like ours, and it clearly doesn't look like money is an issue :)
Ps. I drive a Powerstroke. I get so tired of people doggin on different types of diesels. Especially those high school kids who are stuck driving mom's Honda.
Nice truck, man. Definitely recommend gauges (EGT, boost, trans temp). Definitely want to be monitoring that hoss's engine, especially pulling that trailer.
@ilikecheesenips I'm not very familiar with these kinds of things so dont laugh at the question and have some rude remark, But when he does invest in the gauges to keep check on all of these things, Like the trans temp, What exactly do you want to keep check on its temperature for? And in doing so, If something is over heating under there, What can you really do about it? I mean the truck is supposed to be made to handle this trailer right?
Hey what kind of hitch do you have in it becuase i have a 07 dodge mega cab and i have a fifth wheel and it does a chucking motion back and fourth on the highway.....i have a highjacker hitch in it.
@thatsthenik moves it like its not there. I can not floor it from a stop I pulls so hard It would pull the hitch off the trailer..
About other truck? I passed lots of fords pulling smaller trailers, So I would say if you don't get a dodge I would get the ford I don't think Chevy would do good with a load this size I think there still building a truck out of a car.
But its not the pulling it also the stoping and the dodge with the factory engine brake will hold a 7% grade with no brakes
@Ryd3r22 GAWA front 5200 GAWR rear 6200 the rear stops at 6200 because that the max of the tires. Its the same rear end as the dully.
Don't know about the 2500 but I know the 2500 don't have overload springs. If your going to tow big get the 3500 and if really big get a dully for more tire capacity. This trailer holds every thing I have I carry a baja bug in the rear and motor cycle my big roll away tool box mig welder air compressor spair parts tires. you name it I have it.
@MotelCambodia i was meaning like there GVWR as in the max they can tow, this is Ryd3r22 but i cant access that account, i've tried resetting pass and it resets then i go to log in and it says its wrong again
@RyderMultimedia probley less then the 28000 lbs I was on my trip to Calif(see other videos) . It pulls 28000 up 6% 55 mph easly. and slows it just as easy.
I dont know never looked becouse them ratings dont mean any thing . Just a few % lower or higher on the axle ratio can change it by 1000 and 1000's. and its who is driving.
I would say it can easly go up to 28000lbs . Most of the trip I was in 6th with cruse control on going 60mph on any mountain never went lower then 3rd some was 7%
@MotelCambodia you do know that if you're stopped by a certain hiway patrol, you'd get a big fat ticket for maxing out you're GVWR. Unlike you're precious Dodge, Fords can LEGALLY tow that amount.
@Broadcastbuddy2 There is no law on the weight you can pull , The max trailer weight is the weight you can pull to not void your warranty. There is no sticker or data plate any where on my truck that lists the max pulling weight. I don't think FORD lists it on the truck also , maybe in the sales brochure. When the DOT stops you at the scales the weight your axles and if your not over your ratings your LEGAL. So the trailer 3 axles GVW 18000 my truck axles 11800= 29800 so LEGAL
@MotelCambodia Uh, yes there is. If you're over you're GCWR, you're illegal in some states. You're also screwed if you find yourself in an accident. Not to mention insurance wise. Now there are things you can do to the truck to increase the GCWR, I believe you can also increase the gcwr amount by paying a fee, Its up to 26000 lbs, over that, you need a cdl. I believe the dodge stock GCRW is 21,500 lbs. the ford 350 is 26,000.
@MotelCambodia Ford can pull this trailer kid, just dont be a shit head like other crackers on here just think one truck is better than the other. the new Ford's can pull this just as easy little man. Ford was First built, Chevy was Second Built and Dodge was the last built. Chevy and Dodge always copies what Ford does
@countrydude03 and the Ford Guys always come onto the dodge pages and open their mouths because they are mentally insecure and feel the compulsive need to do so, which makes all of us normal people in the world hate you guys even more. I'm a licensed ford mechanic and a ford salesman and I'm here to tell you new ford sucks. Ford= Fix Or Repair Daily. Go choke on that. Dodge don't copy ford, Dodge laughs at ford, then makes it better than ford does. Fact of life get over yourself.
@bleeding5th Jr. please, Dodge always copied Ford when Dodge was last built after Chevy was built. Ford was forst ever built truck. go suck on a rabbits foot ya kangaroo jack. if it wasnt for Cummins and Ford, Dodge wouldnt even pull that trailer. ya monkey ass dont know shit. same as ya rednecks come on to Ford and Chevy people come to Ford videos and talk shit. its pay back bitches
@countrydude03 No what it looks like is your just living up to the typical Ford stereotype so thanks for playing. By the way, When there's a red line under a word, that means your being a ford lover by not being able to spell for shit. One good reason why I stay away from Ford is the fact all of the Want to be gangsters and wish they were cool or black kiddies always seem to like Ford. Again you make the perfect example of it so please just don't reply unless you got something intelligent to say
@bleeding5th dont tell me what to do punk, i aint gangster, i aint none of that. i was born a Ford baby and will die a Ford man, i will drive a Chevy, Nissan and Toyota. if i was gangster you be dead already. Jr. stop bein a bitch and hatin on trucks that ya monkey as didnt even or dont even own. i spell the way i wanna. come on down south and teach me how to spell you goddamn redneck city bitch. got a problem with that. kiss my country ass. go eat ya banana you damn monkey
@countrydude03 Your not country, Your far from it. See the difference is true country people are intelligent. They're nice kind people who don't go around looking for fights all the time like you are. Your just referencing a song and repeating the same words and the same insults over and over again. Your nothing but a joke. Only and cowards and people with mental insecurities try to intimidate people the way your trying to do here.Go cry about how good ford is somewhere else Its not welcome here
@bleeding5th funny, your one of the rednecks, sorry i dont look for fights. ya dont even me me kid. why ya say i go look for fights when ya monkey ass was arguin over shit. i am country more than ya ever be. you just a redneck that dont like nothin besides one thing. get a life chipmunk. besides rednecks tell people what to do, like ya try to tell me how to spell correctly. your not that smart pal. your either 19 or 20, you got growin up left to do, Jr.
this is the best lookin setup yet.

Motorfordtoyota 9 months ago
@Motorfordtoyota The scorpion 6.7 is not a navistar engine, thus it is a complete different animal than past powerstroke engines
FordFan813 9 months ago
@FordFan813 I know, the new 6.7 is Ford built and designed
Motorfordtoyota 9 months ago
@Motorfordtoyota International is the one who made the problems, the new 6.7 is built from the ground up from ford, it will not be the same as before. New designers are in hands. But I dont know anything about the power.
jacobg1777 9 months ago
@pytheus77007
easily especially with a 5th wheel.
The2001cobra 5 months ago
@pytheus77007 fifth wheels run about 25% tounge weight not 10% like a bumper style
coolaaronn17 3 months ago
@coolaaronn17
The2001cobra 3 months ago
@pytheus77007
you want a heavy load to see how the truck sits loaded coventional tow a spool of utility wire on a short trailer or a fully loaded dump trailer with dirt this will test your rig. Fifth wheel towing no problem hell f250's have a payload of 4300lbs now while dually 350's have a payload up to 7100 now. Hell new 150's would beable to 5th wheel this thing around equip right they have a 3k payload rating.
The2001cobra 5 months ago
@pytheus77007
these are childish owners who think there trucks are impressive for towing a triple axle camper and how they sit. These things are very light given there size. Tow a 43ft sail boat or yatch that weighs 20K+ now thats impressive. You'd be amazed at what light duty trucks can tow just with helper springs/bags, WD kits and brake controllers. Its simply amazing.
The2001cobra 5 months ago
@pytheus77007 if you what to you could but you have to goo like 90km
omgieattahcheese 4 months ago
@pytheus77007 3500 or 350 the 2 series truck would not handle this if this guy looked up the specs on his truck this may be wrong even most people think just cuz its a larger truck there legal but that is NOT the case ever time
LaRobertos 3 months ago
@pytheus77007 Unless you mean a dually, there is no difference between an F250 and an F350 other than 2" taller spring blocks in the rear. Even the springs themselves are the same.

First off what an awesome set up.Im writing you to get info on your MPG and Range when pulling that trailer. I work for a company that uses box trucks and im trying to convince my boss to get 3 or 4 ram 3500's and about six trailers. But i need some hard numbers to persuade him. thanks for your help.
nkrooner 1 year ago 2

MOD7000 1 year ago
@nkrooner our 06 3500 dually gets around 19-20 mpg unloaded in town!!! towing our 40 foot raptor fifth wheel we've gotten 15 mpg. usually we get around 12 or 13 towing it. hope this helps

Do u got air bags on the truck and can u pull that much legally
Meximelt5150 1 year ago
@Meximelt5150 in this Video there no air bags the truck and trailer are brand new . I put a set on to adjust for different loads but with this trailer loaded the tongue weight goes down some. As for leagal yes They will look at the GVWR ratings of the truck and trailer that add up to 29100 LBS. The axle ratings for the truck are higher then the GVW of 10100 listed on the tag . but Im still under all the ratings of the trailer and truck My other video I was at 28000 and legal

@ MotelCambodia, continued
I have a 4-gauge pod in my F-550, installed on the A-pillar. It provides easy monitoring for my transmission temperature, boost levels for my turbo, fuel pressure, and exhaust gas temperature (EGT's).
Towing at highway speed, traveling uphill, and traffic can all generate lots of heat inside your transmission.
Cost of gauges: around $200
Cost of transmission rebuild because you didn't have gauges: $3,000+
Feel free to email me questions. I basically speak diesel :)
ilikecheesenips 1 year ago
@ MotelCambodia
Yes, these are meant for doing serious work, but considering the price tag on that beast, you want it to last a long time. Gauge pods are (IMHO) one of the most important mods for trucks that do work. Towing heavy loads puts a tremendous amount of stress on the transmission. Trans fluid gets hot, and if it gets too hot, it breaks down, and can destroy your trans. A trans temp gauge can tell you if your transmission is getting hot, and therefore, is a great for early detection.

Does that 3500 have dual wheels on the rear? Great videos as I am looking at a Big Dog RV and trying to decide what Ram I need. Thanks!

@hunglo1967 this is the biggest trailer you may find not much places sell them bigger then 43 foot. . mmmm I would think you could easy see its not a dual rear wheel.
I find it does just fine with single rear wheels. Try R&L RV on 95 good people there.

FIRST INVESTMENT: GAUGES GAUGES GAUGES
They're a 'must-have' for trucks like ours, and it clearly doesn't look like money is an issue :)
Ps. I drive a Powerstroke. I get so tired of people doggin on different types of diesels. Especially those high school kids who are stuck driving mom's Honda.
Nice truck, man. Definitely recommend gauges (EGT, boost, trans temp). Definitely want to be monitoring that hoss's engine, especially pulling that trailer.
ilikecheesenips 1 year ago
@ilikecheesenips Thanks for the comment, Yes i need gauges soon. My last trip I was at 28000 lbs towed it for 3000 miles loaded
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@ilikecheesenips I'm not very familiar with these kinds of things so dont laugh at the question and have some rude remark, But when he does invest in the gauges to keep check on all of these things, Like the trans temp, What exactly do you want to keep check on its temperature for? And in doing so, If something is over heating under there, What can you really do about it? I mean the truck is supposed to be made to handle this trailer right?

thatsthenik 1 year ago
does your truck pull the fith wheel easily? or what truck would you say is good ,except your's :D?
thatsthenik 1 year ago
@thatsthenik moves it like its not there. I can not floor it from a stop I pulls so hard It would pull the hitch off the trailer..
About other truck? I passed lots of fords pulling smaller trailers, So I would say if you don't get a dodge I would get the ford I don't think Chevy would do good with a load this size I think there still building a truck out of a car.
But its not the pulling it also the stoping and the dodge with the factory engine brake will hold a 7% grade with no brakes
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia sweet. what are the dodge 3500s rated for? and do you know what the 2500 is?
Ryd3r22 1 year ago
@Ryd3r22 GAWA front 5200 GAWR rear 6200 the rear stops at 6200 because that the max of the tires. Its the same rear end as the dully.
Don't know about the 2500 but I know the 2500 don't have overload springs. If your going to tow big get the 3500 and if really big get a dully for more tire capacity. This trailer holds every thing I have I carry a baja bug in the rear and motor cycle my big roll away tool box mig welder air compressor spair parts tires. you name it I have it.
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia i was meaning like there GVWR as in the max they can tow, this is Ryd3r22 but i cant access that account, i've tried resetting pass and it resets then i go to log in and it says its wrong again
RyderMultimedia 1 year ago
@RyderMultimedia probley less then the 28000 lbs I was on my trip to Calif(see other videos) . It pulls 28000 up 6% 55 mph easly. and slows it just as easy.
I dont know never looked becouse them ratings dont mean any thing . Just a few % lower or higher on the axle ratio can change it by 1000 and 1000's. and its who is driving.
I would say it can easly go up to 28000lbs . Most of the trip I was in 6th with cruse control on going 60mph on any mountain never went lower then 3rd some was 7%
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia nice, im still trying to figure out the 2500, some site sayes 11, 000 but i think its quite a bit more

@nickalarz no ford could pull this trailer
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia you do know that if you're stopped by a certain hiway patrol, you'd get a big fat ticket for maxing out you're GVWR. Unlike you're precious Dodge, Fords can LEGALLY tow that amount.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 Nothing is over the ratings on the sticker on the truck or trailer.
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia Ok, got ya. Thought you were towing 23,000 lbs.
23,000 - 7,500 = 15,500 lbs trailer weight.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 that the trailer empty loaded Im at 28000 LBS
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 no they cant
RyderMultimedia 1 year ago
@RyderMultimedia uh, okay.. ?? Where's you're reasoning? The f 350 can haul 19,200 lbs, LEGALLY.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 There is no law on the weight you can pull , The max trailer weight is the weight you can pull to not void your warranty. There is no sticker or data plate any where on my truck that lists the max pulling weight. I don't think FORD lists it on the truck also , maybe in the sales brochure. When the DOT stops you at the scales the weight your axles and if your not over your ratings your LEGAL. So the trailer 3 axles GVW 18000 my truck axles 11800= 29800 so LEGAL
MotelCambodia 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia Uh, yes there is. If you're over you're GCWR, you're illegal in some states. You're also screwed if you find yourself in an accident. Not to mention insurance wise. Now there are things you can do to the truck to increase the GCWR, I believe you can also increase the gcwr amount by paying a fee, Its up to 26000 lbs, over that, you need a cdl. I believe the dodge stock GCRW is 21,500 lbs. the ford 350 is 26,000.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@MotelCambodia Ford can pull this trailer kid, just dont be a shit head like other crackers on here just think one truck is better than the other. the new Ford's can pull this just as easy little man. Ford was First built, Chevy was Second Built and Dodge was the last built. Chevy and Dodge always copies what Ford does
