i found this series to be very poorly made but the one thing i came away with was that nate is a hero to me. he's an old fahsioned kind of marine leader. clear headed, compassionate but commanding respect....he makes me proud.

I got the feeling this series was heavily biased in Fick's favor. It's from the point of view of an embedded Rolling Stone reporter. The series paints him as a bastion of moral authority. The other officers are portrayed as caricatures. Everyone Fick was on bad terms with was exaggeratedly lambasted by the mini series. Evan Wright kind of grew attached to some of these men and may not have been objective.

Being the same caliber the M16 would only providemore power from muzzle velocity but the barrel is so long that I think an M16 would actually have a lower muzzle velocity due to drag on the bullet.

Im not an engineer or firearms expert butmy guess is the do the same job with slightly different characteristic due to the lengths of each weapon.
