  • Think of DCC system as having a left and right side. Left side is manufacturer's, right side is NMRA. Left will not talk to other lefts. Right will talk to other decoders. NMRA only mandates right side. Program and communictions of left side are property of the manufacture and do not work with anyother system, even though, for the most part, they all do the same thing.

  • @RailguyOhio: As far as I know none will work with another system. So if your MRC or NCE you will be what every you pick. Engine decoders do not mater as much do to NMRA rules, So decoders should work on most any system.

    We do have a few systesm that are set up to conect to systems, Not sure the name. You just better off picking one system and sticking to it.
