Yeah - somebody should surf Ballona Creek when it's running. Only thing is, it's difficult to get close to the creek at any time. It's usually fenced off. Especially when it rains like this.

The storm water can "attack"(and kill people!) even in the most dry desert valleys (unproteced by vegetation). In this case I think is human deforestration of the hills & mts. The forest was a buffer against... , but today..
