There are three ways to beat him: Straight up beat him, telekinese a oxygen tank at him, or melt 2-4 splicers and then approach him. The splicers will show their displeasure at being frozen and attack him.

If you melt the frozen splicers, they don't attck you. They get revenge on Finnegan for freezing them. That's what I heard.

One of the biggest things that he missed was the fact that ALL of the splicers are represented here before/after you are frozen AND they aren't attacking you. Take massive amounts of pictures at this point. Shoot as many as you can of each until you don't get anymore bonus. Move slowly as you freeze when you get about midway to the back and the splicers will change out.  Be sure not to get to close to Martin after you thaw out until you can't take anymore pictures. Splicers disappear then.

@nelson11111 and you cant switch/fire weapons or plasmids and your health doesn't go down even if you get hit? happened to me once. i left the level and then went back and his corpse was already there waiting for me to take a photo lol

for the room with the frozen splicers when you melt them and you are not around them they will attack finnigan and will pretty much help you as long as you dont interfere with the fight they will kill him for you. well thats what happens with me anyway.

this is such a great game fantastic storyline. I was on the last level but i didn't beat fountaine so I took it back 2 gamestop and from the look of bioshock 2 it sounds pretty cool but I cant wait for batman arkham asylum i pre ordered it...

to beat fontaine you need a certain set ot strategies & items equipped at a gene bank before you go up to fight him. If you know the right tricks, it's pretty easy. For 2 of the times, I use electric gel.  He's somewhat immune to it the time he uses the electric attacks. Use explosive barrels on him then.

The first time i played i didnt see the cross bow, only after the 2nd kill did i see it... after it started to be lowered into the hole... i shouted at my PC for so long but there was nothing i could do to get it out of the trap door.

if you unfreeze those splicers they attack Martin, but because they have been weakened by them they aren't as good as the usual splicers, obviously if they do destroy him then they turn on you.

If you melt them, as long as they're not a houdini splicer they run around on fire then fall and have some nice items on them, rare items sometimes. The Houdini ones teleport away and never bother you again, but otherwise not special at all.

When you fight Finnegan, the frozen splicers will indeed come back to life if you melt the ice that encases them. All sorts of splicers are frozen. In my game (X360), there were Houdini and spider splicers frozen. I revived one or two with napalm and bum-rushed them with the wrench. Just something extra to add. The loot sucked, as always.

Something cool you can do is thaw out the nitro splicer and he will go and start throwing his bombs at Finnegan. I guess he's pissed at him for freezing him.

Yeah, that made me chuckle. I bet he wasn't expecting that gift. At least Finnegan had a chance to defend himself. Fitzpatrick was screwed from the minute he started tickling the ivories. ;) As for Finnegan, he caught me a bit by surprise. I got too close, he broke out of the ice. He acts just like a Houdini splicer.

Finnegan has a Winter Blast projectile, as opposed to the usual Incinerate. I think Jack, no matter if you have the Plasmid spliced or not, thaws himself off with Incinerate.
