If you listen to many of the lyrics, particularly the ones from Wish there's some rather oblique references to drugs. Or it could simply be altered perceptions, like looking at one's hand or surroundings like they're alien, truly unknown and not understood. But I definately agree that for the most part it's like lots of acid was ingested. Many of their videos contain similar images though, even Boys Don't Cry of weird, twisting, trailing hands.
