unoriginal? i dont even like yngwie but your talking out of your ass, malmsteen invented a lot of phrasing guitarists use today everywhere, he wasn't always just about speed he had a hell of a lot of unique style and thats why you can tell him apart from his many clones, atleast people with a good ear can.

The only reason to think he isnt original is because his arrangements sound classical in nature.but thats like saying vai is a rip off because his early music sounds a lot like zappa. Nonsense

@TheLydianRocks i agree. hes not really my style but i think a lot of people take his playing for granted. he has a lot of stuff that has really beautiful and smart phrasing. he has a great vibrato as well. i used to think he was arrogant but now i kind of see it as he just wants to rock out and play cool music and have fun.
