We all eat animals in some form or another, they are here for a purpouse, how they die is what's wrong with the world, it should be done more humane ways or wait till they die but that's not how it goes sadly.

In addition, Chinese food turtles are of the snapping variety. Unless you confine them, they will attempt to bite your fingers off. Let's be honest, they are only packaged like that when they are to be sold, whereas they are left in a pool of water. On the other hand, battery chickens in the UK suffer much more.

@Axz92 Now I havent looked into it real hard, but what Iv read is in their culture, the more frightened and under duress the animal is, the more flavorful, or manly, or something the meal is. Although I believe that achieves the opposite effect, because whatever chemical it is thats released into the body when under stress and in fear, actually gives the meat a tinny flavor. Again, I havent put in much time looking this up, but feel free if youre interested.

Tesco are the worst kind of corporation, they don't give a crap about animal welfare anywhere they operate, while all the other supermarkets are changing over to free range, organics and other welfare approved schemes Tescos still insist on keeping their battery chickens and eggs so they can have the lowest prices, it doesn't surprise me this happens in their Chinese stores at all, I expect they have live dog skinning out back as well.
