I was at this game. I don't remember the controversy at all. I guess I was too busy yelling and jumping up and down.

I was at game 1 of this series as well. Menderville scores from outside the blueline early in the game (first shot maybe???). Loved it!!!

Two things:

Look at Pat Burns at 1:40. I assume Clark's explaining why Belfour's arguing, so Burns just laughs, gives a "gimme a break" hand wave, and says "Please...".

Then Wendel Clark at 2:28 gets asked something by Potvin (I assume what he did) and Wendel goes, "I don't know"...

@leafsfan1231 Well, had you actually watched and listened to the video you'd realize he thought there was interference with his stick. If you watch there is a SLIGHT touch between the blade of Clarkes stick and the top of Belfours stick. This touch of sticks Belfour claims to have lifted his stick opening a hole for the puck to slide through. It didn't, Belfour was just making an excuse for fucking up and otherwise solid game.
