This is so much like what is happening in Florida... Except our situation is FAR worse, the corruption even more out of control and we have FAR more proof of lying, corruption and abuse than the fishermen in Massachusetts.

Dale Jones need to be investigated criminally! I was reading that after meeting with the inspector general about the scope of the investigation he immediately ordered over 140 files to be shredded. suspicious? what if a boat owner shredded reports after being told he was being investigated? boat seizure? jail time?

Fines need 2 be based off what a boat makes a yr. My capt was fined $80k for late paper work which is more than what we made all year!! 2 be able to pay the fine he was forced to sell his fed ground fish license, a source of income for the boat, does that make sense? NO! is it fair? NO!
I think MOST of the $54 MILLION dollars NOAA has a massed in a hedge fund needs 2 be givin back to the fishermen. btw nmfs, the fish stocks have recovered! & millions of #'s of scallops died of old age last yr!

All money collected from fines should go directly back into the fishery, perhaps into, i don't know, maybe REAL SCIENCE !! REAL DATA !!!
