Do the ceramic braces seem sturdy to you? I get my braces tomorrow and I'm trying to decide if I want to do clear on the top. But I'm afraid that the hook will break off. Just curious.
@MrsJustRight319 Ceramic braces are just as sturdy as traditional braces. They have to be sturdy and durable in order to be worn for years by the patient. Don't be afraid of hooks breaking, brackets becoming loose, or wires moving because they can be fixed in one short visit. These issues also occur with traditional metal braces. Your ortho is well aware that stuff like this occurs all the time. Gud luck and don't be afraid : )
cause im getting braces in a couple months and i get to pick between the clear braces and the normal metal ones... im leaning towards the clear ones because i hate braces but if their gonna stain then i wont get them... let me know :)
@kiwipower129 Both types of braces can be stained, but the clear ones are more visible. If you drink tea or coffee alot, you will definitely have to stop because it will stain your teeth along with your braces. With ceramic braces, the elastics around the brackets can be stained easily, but you will get them changed every month or during every visit to your ortho so that will definitely not be an issue.
