Hatikvah, at Hebrew it means "The Hope" is the national anthem of Israel. The anthem's theme revolves around the nearly 2000-year-old hope of the Jewish people to be a free and sovereign people in the Land of Israel. It always makes me tears when I here this amazing performance!
I am not sure if it is legal... but thanks for posting this Tod. I can see by the extra info that you're a true fan, and of such a fan-worthy pianist :O. I have to say, this kicks the butt of sunday morning hebrew school prayer :P
wow... it's just a little bit odd cause i'm from Israel and it's weird for me to hear the Hatikvah like that.... from someone who's not Jewish and stuff... it's beautiful!
@kaputasri maybe if you will listen to the original anthem of Israel and hear how sad and hopeful it is, and see the news in Israel, where almost every day there are terror attacks and rockets thrown at Innocent people here in Israel, you will understand that we are not a militaristic country. we are simply trying to live through the day, surrounded by terrorism and hatred from every direction.
@xn2200 I think I get what you are trying to say. It's not easy to fend off constant hatred, but I think that warfare doesn't bring a end to hatred it keeps feeding it, but mutual understanding and tolerance of cultural, racial and ideological values brings true peace.I hope that someday Arabs and Jewish people will understand one another and live together as brothers and sisters.
@pianist7137 If it wasn't for people illegally posting music on youtube I wouldn't even know who this guy or Ludovico or any of those guys. And yes I buy the albums once I have discovered a cool artist like this.
I give it 5 stars

when I was a little girl, they used to sing that theme as a song at church. Pity I can't remember the title, but it wasn't hatikvah
