  • most honest song i've heard in a while

  • I am an emotional boy with all the girls and human

  • I can't believe I'm only learning about The Field Mice now! Completely passed me by in the 80s. I feel I should take to the streets shouting why did no one tell me about this band! Why wasn't I told?? Are they a well kept secret or was I just not paying attention. Every track is a treat :)

  • blow my mind forever

  • perhaps the most harmless band I've ever heard

  • I had the tape right when it came out.

  • Somehow missed this song/band back in the day. Thanks God for YouTube!

The intro reminds me a bit of "Destroy the Heart" by "The House of Love", but, then, the song takes off in a totally different direction. The part of the song past the 2:00 mark is pure gold.

  • @ConfusingClarity You are right. House of Love. I went through an enormous nostalgia and tragic feel for all this, for a recent 4 or 5 years. Now I am numb. Horrid feeling. Dead in the legs. Terrible.

  • Huge song!!!

  • "my feelings are hurt so easily"

  • THE ORCHIDS

Video for THE ORCHIDS new vinyl E.P " THE WAY THAT YOU MOVE"

    released on 9th August pebblerecords.co.uk

  • the breakdown in this song, around half-way, just rocks and represents how sad it is that good music died awhile ago in this new century.

  • I'm in my 20's now, wooow I think every generation fall in love with this music

  • Una de las mejores canciones pop del mundo

  • at the time I thought I was into all the cool stuff, Ride, MBV, Jesus & Mary Chain, Stone Roses, Mozza, but looking back I realise I barely scratched the surface of getting into great music 20-odd years ago.

  • love the guitars, them and Curve

  • and now you know where the pains of being pure at heart got their sound

  • Proto-Shoegaze

  • Great song ! amazing guitars!! it is so loud !!

    Love Sarah Records!

  • fckng awesome X.X

  • Juste fabuleux. A gone down song in history , what a masterpiece! A pure lift-off to wonderland

  • Fantastic tune, right up there behind 'Missing The Moon'......

  • probably my least favourite song by the field mice. the track that made them apparently?

  • 2 people are no sensitive

  • Thanks for sharing this awesome song.

    10**/Fav

  • The title is ironic of course. This song - sonically - is about as Sensitive as a block of sandpaper! Love the relentless guitar play out at the end.... another Field Mice classic!

  • @busterabcat

I like how you use the words "relentless" for the end part, is perfect. I completely agree. And that bass.......................fuck

  • pop at its finest. cant get any better

  • Unbelievable song

  • mad kai avant garde!

  • Hi my name is Mark Wilson from Bearsden. I am still obsessed with this song. A big hi to Tainshy and the gang.

  • I can't believe "clearer" is not being uploaded on youtube! it is one of the best from them along with this one right here.

  • ive been listening to this since a was little thanx to my fake dad.

including artwork and label attitude of pure pop.

  • awesome song!!!

  • once upon a time.. mad club athens

  • wonderful song. wonderful band. wonderful.

  • brilliant band and brilliant song!

    thnx for reminding mate!

  • I am glad that some young people appreciate this terrrrrrrrrrrific song.

Check aslo "You should all be murdered", from Another Sunny Day, a band signed on Sarah Records in the 90's also...

  • Pierre59000live.....yup reminds me of my happy 20s too.Beautiful, flawless and wonderful song x

  • The guitar should have been played a little louder between 3:30 and 3:53. Otherwise, gr8 song, shoegaze "avant la lettre"...

  • I love this song so much....I want this song to play in the background when I ask my boyfriend to come with me to Sweden for holiday!

  • I gotta agree with DoobyMaster

  • This is a really good band... But...

THE WAKE IS WAY BETTERR MUAHAHAHAHA!

  • Damn. My best friend was being awefully trendy and said he liked this band. I was all ready to say how rubbish they were. But there not are they. They're like the best band ever...damn...

  • best noisepop song ever, period.

  • @kadane7777777

it's quite a blunt statement but I understand how much you like this song and I agree

it's a wonderful piece of work

  • one of my favourite songs, beautiful

  • is this the first song in the sarah 100 compilation?

  • Comment seems superfluous, 20 years on still one of the greatest songs ever made, should have been number one in 50 countries.

  • I think its really nice........has a lot of that gentleness

about it,of course the guitars are great, but the vocals

nice too...relax or you'll miss it.

PS That picture reminds me of West Limerick

  • i like music where the singer doesn't sound like a mumbling fucktard.

  • Thanks. This picture came out just right.

  • fucking awesome, totally shits on all the new recognised pop music, this is dream inducing stuff

  • Comment removed

  • @DoobyMaster

    Wo, wo, wo !

The Field Mice wouldn't like your "fucking" and your "shits".

Their power was in the music they play, NOT the look they had...

Imitate them if you appreciate them : find the right words instead of coating some dead vocabulary with ... shit.

  • @YunaBonbeurre

you sound like a total utter drip. i was complimenting this excellent band!

  • replay and replay.

  • Exactly what needs to be done every time this song ends =]

  • la miglior coda pop di sempre.

  • One of the best songs i ever heard. Happy 20's ! Just simply brillant !

  • @pierre59000live

    yes, you're right

but people don't take time to listen to the melancolic lead guitar behing the wall of sound : they are just lost.... they have to sit by a Starbucks window, open a book on "How to succeed...", check a 100 times their mails (AM I POPULAR ?)...

In the early early 90's --- Field Mice time ---, things were going wrong, but were still human.

  • TWEEEEEEEEE

  • thats whats so great

  • I'm agree with you, there isn't a beat,a song,a sound since this track only THE FIELD MICE,always in the times and in our heart,LIVELY BRITISH ROOTS AND BRITISH SOUND THAT WE SHARE ON THE WORLD!

  • Thanks for uploading this, great great memories 20 years ago !!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. Great memories......

  • The latter half is one of the greatest instrumentals I've ever heard.

  • You're right. You're totally right.

  • totally agree; so so good; brilliant song

  • Probably my fav song ever...

Why should I not like, the way I am???

  • sounds like the church, at a rave

  • Like a rush to the head. Could have been done today...Undiscovered gold to the masses.

  • sensitive to all the universe

  • WHEN MORNING COMES TO TOWN is a beautiful song that is not known

  • hey

does anyone have the tab for WHEN MORNING COMES TO TOWN of The field mice ?

    that'd be awesome

  • This song makes me feel so sad because it' so f**king brilliant

  • A masterpiece, a majestic pop song with some new-wave-style drum & guitar lines that explode in the ending part.

One of my fav track of all the time (...among 5-6000 records).

  • I agree with you uabazz!

The ending guitars could have gone on forever me thinks as they are almost hypnotic.

A *must* song to play LOUD!!!

  • why have i not heard this before?

  • Well... now that you have what do you think of the song? ;-D

Besides being on their "Coastal" CD you can also find their music on the "Air Balloon Road" compilation CD's. I have volumes 1 and 2 and I am not sure if there were any more.

Another great song by them is "If You Need Someone" but it cannot ever compare to this explosive song!

IMHO "Sensitive" is in my TOP 10 songs ever made!

  • all that matters is you have now

  • Thanks for uploading this song as it's excellent and brings back some good memories ;-D

Back in 1989 I would drive 150 miles to the "Vinyl Solution" record store in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my good friend Mario. This is where I bought the Field Mice CD "Coastal". I still have it!

Even though I could have bought the CD closer to home the store was amazing and it was indeed fun times and fun drive the few times we went.

Alas... I have not seen Mario since he got married many years ago.

  • This song my ultimate 'crank up the volume' pre pub track

  • i cant believe i havent said hw impoetant this song is to me. i love it kids. thats all!
