  • How did you insulate the skirting, and how well did it work?

I'm having alot of trouble with that.

I skirted mine with 1/2" OSB and stapled carpet padding to the inside but we get alot of cold up from the floor.

The underbelly is aluminum sheeting which is terrible about absobing and transferring the cold. I'm considering spraying the whole underside with automobile undercoating.

Our doorframes are aluminum as well and condensation freezes on the inside.

  • @ananominity Our travel trailer is a park model. It has "some" insulation in the floor and walls. The floors are like those you'd find in a house. Subfloor, floor studs? (I'm not a carpenter), fiberglass insulation and then plywood sheets that once had linoleum on top. I got some all weather caulk and sealed all the inside seams of the floor and walls that face the outdoors. Any spaces that needed insulation I filled with expanding foam.

  • @ananominity The skirting is just the wood used to build sheds. I wanted to insulate it just did not have enough time or funds. When spring came around I did some landscape insulation. Built raised beds, added foundation shrubs and amazingly those plants are what help insulate the bottom. My electric bill with heaters went from $400 to $150. We also have heavy duty clear vinyl shower curtains on the windows and the glass patio doors. It's really toasty inside now.
