During the hot wire part, you can hold an up or down arrow key while holding the left or right arrow key to go diagonally. It's a bit risky, but much faster and it (usually) works without I dieing.

@schmitzization You could try Stick Arena, that's a browser based multiplayer game where you're a stick figure and the goal is to kill other stick figures. Whoever has the most deaths at the end of the five minute round is the winner.

You can either do quick start mode which puts you in a game immediately or sign up for a free account (but it requires an email address).
