I had a 3rd Gen ipod touch but sold it...too many cool apps required a microphone, and since ipods dont have one (except for the crappy mic attached to the headphones) those apps barely worked. Also the sound clarity was awful with headphones on...barely any bass, and no equilizer either! It was very nice to own and did have a lot of nice features...but I sold it. Heck, my cell phone has better sound than the ipod did :)

Want one really bad for my birthday. I know there's a 3G but the 2nd and 3rd are pretty much the same. Same screen size (3.5 in) weight, height, length, etc. The only thing that's different is that the 3G has (I think) a different GPS or something. Should I wait until September, or get the 2G?
