  • These are the seed fish. The spawns are just amazing. Got two batches all gorgeous

  • Oh my goodness I LOVE your fish! This is basically my dream tank...

My favorites are the ones with big spots on their ridges. They all look really healthy, they're beautiful! I liked this so I can come back and watch it :)

The one w/ the white spot on back (male) and the red spot on back (female). They are the parents of the babies on my latest videos.

    Thanks Ken

  • Awesome!!! Would love to have such a good aquality Lionchu / Lionchu.

  • @tewkk2010

Thanks, hoping to get some show quality out of my babies.

  • @ryuken168 best of luck to you then. I am sure you will get some show quality out of your babies. There are so many of them. ,.)))

It could be that your ranchu was fed color enhancer food to get that gold color and the true was white.

Some ranchu's go through a few phases of color hange as they get older. How's the health and what do you feed your fish, also indoor or outdoor lighting. A picture would help too.

  • Yes, it is growing back and I'm happy about that. I just wasn't sure if it would grow back completely. Thank you for all of the tips and help. I really want more since mine is doing well.

Do they bread naturally or do they need help???

  • @deathstrikerose

The new fin might be smaller.

They can breed naturally, but the adults do eat the eggs and a lower percentage spawn.

Dry hand spawning yields a higher percentage of fertility eggs for me.

  • As long as your fish still has the main bone on the fin, it will grow back. It might not be the same size, but just keep the water condition clean. Water change helps

  • My fis is missing its fin and it looks like a little stick... it swims fine and I noticed this after I bought it but... will it grow back?

  • How long have you had your fish? And do you breed and sell them? They are truly brilliant and adorable!

  • @deathstrikerose

Thanks, I got the adults in the beginning of the year. They cost me from $150 to $300 each.

But the return I now I have offsprings from them. The batch that I'm raising now started out with about 1000+ and now cull down to 400. I will let them grow another month plus I need to do one more cull before they go on sale. I will keep updating the video progress of the babies as they grow.

  • I just bought one :) but how do I train it? I have no idea!!!!

  • @deathstrikerose

They need a diet of boil green peas, Hikari bloodworms for head growth and Hikari or Saki Hikari sinking type goldfish food.

To insure the health and the growth of the fish even if your tank is cycled, I do 90% water change twice a week. I either have water set aside for 24 hours or add Seachem prime to tab water for the water change.

If you have further question feel free to ask.
