  • damn i feel old

  • i wish there were still beats and srtists around like this, maybe the world would be a better place, back in the 80's you didnt hear as much child molesting, and rape and drugs and killing as you do today, back then you went out and had a good time dancing and chillin with y our friends, this is the good days, PLZZZZZZZZZ BRING THE 80'S BACK

  • great rhymes. Not like other songs how one guy stabbed another or a ridiculous story how to make it from ghetto.

  • this is real rap/hip-hop = No badwords, no death, drugs, police killed, sex, etc.

    AND THIS HAS GREAT RHYMES!

  • im 13

  • the 80s...

  • u would never hear a piano in hip hop today

  • @TheEIREGUNNER i here it in modern hiphop all the time....

  • This beat is sick. Sample please

  • @RasputinStream ...Hell YEAHHHHH!!

  • too bad they couldnt have a hit song without stealing a bassline from flea

  • @Jmako7 Who stole what?! Flea is in one of their videos...WTH you talking about stealing when they made music with him

  • yeah we still pass notes i know coz im only 15

  • brings back awesome memories

  • SO WE MEET AGAIN 240P

  • my aunty use to listen to this when i was 10/11, i am now 32, and STILL LOVE IT !!LolZ

  • Do teenagers pass notes any more?

    Sounds primitive nowadays.

  • It's still a good song NEXT to Bust a Move!

  • even tho I love metal and punk and all that, I love listening to Young MC, he's so awesome!

  • @uptheright I know

  • Wishing that this song had hit the radio back in the day, it is so cool! But, only "Bust A Move" hit the radio in Nashville, TN, and a brotha didn't have cable then. Oh well:(

  • @jarbon5 I had to have listened to this taper 100 of times! Still know all the lyrics... What happened to music like this? Its almost like hip hop got jacked, or rap...?

  • @marshall2411 Music fans are the reason why music has gone to hell these days! The fans of HipHop love hearing the shit that's out there now, so that's what the labels will keep giving them. And, HipHop never got jacked, it is a servant to the consumer, and this is what the consumer wants these days. So, until HipHop listeners start demanding better, this is what they're stuck with (I say "they're" because I don't listen to HipHop much anymore).

  • @jarbon5 Very good point.

  • Thanx;)

  • I swear that's Pauly Shore coming out of the principal's office at 1:20.

  • im 15 and lovein this we aint all the same u know some of us got common sense

  • for updates on Young MC, text "youngmc" to 90210

  • for updates on Young MC, text "youngmc" to 90210

  • Now this is rap music, instead of today's boasts about booty, guns, gangs, bloods, crips, drugs, weed, sex, and more booty! Too bad that school was (and always will be) such a bitch.

  • Where are the bitches, the bling bling, the cars and why doesn't this sound like crap?

Oh wait, this is REAL rap!

  • This must have been before '90s rappers started dressing like angry clowns. I don't know how many of the backing tracks are sampled, but the overall sound is more "real" than on most rap records. This guy had a sense of humor and knew how to entertain. I wonder if there were any old Louis Jordan records ("Pettin and Pokin", "Messy Bessy", "Beware", that kind of thing) in his house while he was growing up.

  • Flea laying down a funky track. What happened to the real music in rap.

  • when was this made

  • man those were the good times were rap and hip hop was clean and funny, now its just filled with one of 3 concepts money, gurls , or doin something

  • does flea play on this track?

  • admittedly when I was a kid I used to think that Young MC later changed his name to MC Hammer

  • Great song, I miss the era when hip hop music was more fun and lighthearted, back then seemed like a more fun & innocent time compared to nowadays

  • Best Comment! You hit the nail to a T.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=DCYq46ElDQI&feature=relmfu

  • I think I burnt out my Like button

  • Man I miss those days :\

  • Principal's hottt, teacher is hottt, nurse is HOTTTT

  • Iz that my cuz at 1:17?? LOL

  • @DoUWanna007 ...You seriously waited two months to post the SAME THING?

  • they dont send anyone to the principles office anymore

  • 25 people were sent to the principal's office...

  • Thumbs up if searching Lee Michaels brought you here.

  • So, he was playing basketball when he endured the pain on his tooth on the same time? I found it to be kinda weird. But who cares, this song is awesome anyways.

  • When hip hop was light hearted, goodtimes, and everyone didn't take themself too serious... man I miss those days!!

  • @urbanjournalist ya and school started at 9

  • @urbanjournalist

me too, bro! i honestly think that gangsta rap was a wrong turn.

  • @urbanjournalist see, i am gonna start blowing the whistle on these comments, gangsta shit was around back then, but it was banned left right and center, and the difference between todays "gangsta rap" ? it used to be sang by gangsters :D

  • @vancouverbc69 What does that have to do with my original comment look man I'm old I been around kid I remember when Run DMC first hit MTV. I remember Music Box in NYC OK. I remember when YO MTV Raps first aired. All I was saying was that 1988 to 1990 was a fun time in hip hop. The MC's danced and rhymed about having fun and boasting I miss that.

  • @urbanjournalist Could not agree me... what is wrong with this 50 cent sh*t.. why gotta be killing people on every track. sigh..... I LOVE Young MC... Only found him about two days ago!!

  • lol, he's carrying a sign that says "LATE" @ :49!

  • i wish my school was like that!

  • @superboy Props for having good taste in oldschool Hip-hop. Don't let anyone tell you what to like. Yes this song is older than you but to me it shows that you can open your mind and enjoy music. People getting bent out of shape over age and generation is just plain dumb. I'm pushing thirty and I love a lot of music that was made way before I got here. Jazz for example has some amazing roots and a huge influnence on this style of hip hop. And my Grandpa was playing it in clubs at my age

  • Did flea play bass on this whole album? It kinda sounds like his style during the chorus .

  • Eh it don't matter if you were born yesterday, or if you were born in seventy one, it's music, and i don't think it should be kept from anyone, even those who're dumb enough to scrutonize it.

  • My theme song,

  • we need rap like this back

  • This is the one of the only times 240 is cool.

  • Loved "Bust a Move" didn't know shit about Young MC, Lol, still don't but hey, I'm gunna look into it. Man these Cats are cool, from the lyrics, riffs and cool bass line, the beats, the guys, the chicks, the clothes, arr man it's cool. Hey Don't panic bout loosin' this music you young dudes, just live it, it's only gone if you let it. Dress it, drive it, listen to it, dance like it, live it cause that's how you never loose it. Be what you want not what they tell ya, hey!

  • 3:52 I love her baret

  • hey...there's my cousin Louie @ 1:15...hey ...LOUIE!!!

  • love it!!!!

  • the funky piano riff makes it

  • Wish I went to dat school

  • AWESOME bass line

  • i mean this song not tishsong

  • love tish song bust a move, wild thing and funky cold medina

  • Flea from the red hot chilli peppers recorded this bassline and received no credit

  • I like how he can rhyme so many things in this song with a cuss word. But he doesn't, it goes to show you don't need to be explicit with their lyrics to make a great song.

  • Yep, these was the good old days : )

  • UH 9:00 CLOCK?!?!

  • ahhh man o man this was he altimate song and video for me back in the day. loved it. never stop lovin it. mc the best.

  • Great Music without profanity just love it!

  • play that funky bass!

  • I hope Lee Michaels made a lot of money from him sampling his song!

I actually think he did a good job and I dont even like rap!

  • COOL HUMBLE BROTHER DAM THAT DUDE IS TALL

  • Always loved this one, heavy rotation on the ipod!

  • this is so much better than the newer rap i can't stand that "I got money, fuck hoes, got huge house and sick whips as i blast bitches with my nine" attitude

  • way bac when this was my shit, i had the whole song memorized and could do it with out the beat. lol

  • This was so bomb when you were 8 years old at the skating rink at those school parties lol Back before hip hop lost its innocence, when it was all good clean fun for everybody. Shame it had to all go down the tubes.

  • Remind me again why I don't even bother with today's 21st Century "music".

  • @CathMar3 Some of it's quite decent, look beyond the mainstream ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Did he/they(record company) sample Kurtis Blow - I'm Chillin' just after 2:32?

  • How can you not like this song?smh

  • VERY HYPNOTIC AND GROOVY. BEWARE.

  • Wow, Look at me in one of my first videos when I was 19 years old! Thanks Marvin for the opportunity... Just wish I would have learned how to dance better. LOL

  • no sex or violence just great flow :D

  • He's the only rapper that will never escape my memory. The first thing I knew about Young MC was that he had a college degree around the same time Bust a Move came out. Not only did he get a Bachelors in Economics at USC; he was very successful as a music artist all these years. Bust a Move is a classic.

  • sounds like me he talkin bout

  • Classic song, he doesnt get enough credit for his other music

  • Young mc was great. He never acted like something he wasn't. this was the REAL shit. He's real. Very charming, and modest.

  • rap music was the best when it was from new york ...

  • ha length is 420

  • this is epic. i literally listened to this album a thousand times in my youth. and i am from north texas, from a town with 515 people. it was that good. every song, from beginning to end. young mc is one of the most underrated rappers...ever.

  • My music teacher actually made the students listen to this song. this song is actually good for my middle school class

  • Oh my GAWD!!! i remember when i was in Jr. High me and my friend went practiced our syncronized dance routine over and over for weeks to this song till we finally got the opportunity to show off at a party and damn did we look rehersed and just like the guys in this video!

i can look back now and laugh but back then in white suburban Dallas Tx. we were soooo cheesy

  • Great upload!!

Young MC stayed true to himself- no sellout!!

  • 23 people were sent to the principle's office because they were late from watching this video.

  • School starting at 9 a.m? In high school? With recess? Ha this makes me laugh...

  • im gonna make a rap song with this beat

  • Hes Cleaver,

  • This song is 21 years old?!?! ARRRRRGH i feel old. What an unsung classic.

  • Most wicked dancer at 4:05!

  • i miss the old dayz..we move on thru time but im kinda scared that songs like this and bust a move will eventually be erased from history due to the next generation.and im only 14..

  • @superboyd1 i completely agree

  • @superboyd1 Hey man, doesn't matter how old you are; you can enjoy good music at any age... :) and as long as there's Djs like me around, that s*** won't die out.

  • @SolSong ikr....just dont retire early...we need this

  • @superboyd1 i'm 15 haha and musics alive well i dont know about hip hop cause theres to many idiots ruining 80s-90s music listen to chromeo man

  • @superboyd1 That's why we need people your age to keep this music alive!

  • @ShwaRawker i know right.thanks

  • @superboyd1 As long as there's scrubs, there'll be Bust a move.

  • @superboyd1 This was not your generation. Move on. It's crowded in here.

  • @MrThePwnisher so what....its as much as mine as its yours.i heard it,i liked it,i appreciated it so does it really matter dude

  • @superboyd1 im 14 too and i feel the same way.

  • @superboyd1 and that is why you download it burn it buy it and preserve it :) long live the Old Days

  • @superboyd1 Old Dayz????? Its great that your listening to this. But old days? Holy Shit man your only 14, you weren't even born when this damn song came out. Due to the next generation, you are the next generation.

  • @superboyd1 good for you. anything from any genre in 1989 is worth a look IMO.

  • bust a move

  • exactly ....... 2 live crue and NWA were so much cleaner than the cap bustin lyrics of today. Its true. You get old and you forget. Now face down a## up biotch.

  • has anyone heard (it's not on youtube though/yet) 'hip hop blues' by Style? the same one who did Assassinator. same sample, would love to know it.

  • i find it curious that young mc two biggest hits, this song and bust a move, had flea featured on them.

  • ..I think ah see my cousin @ 1:16 ...LOL

  • When I hear his voice, I just think Bust A Move

  • @PepsiGurl93 I don't doubt you do. You were 4 years old when this came out and probably have no idea what good hip hop is.

  • @diggles28 Hey! Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm ignorant. I might assume you are for making such a quick judgement.

  • 4:20

  • 4:20

  • Nothing like old school

  • I love Young MC!!! I am seeing him and Tiffany on New Year's Eve in Denver!!

  • @deliciousvinyl

    Old School Rap for days>>>>>>>

  • flea wrote the bassline for this one and bust a move .... flea rules

  • 21 people dont know what rap is...

  • Those 21 people who disliked this listen to Lil Wayne

  • @PanicATDD Sorry.. I can't help but feel a little bit offended by your comment. I listen to both this AND Lil'Wayne. Just because someone listens to this doesn't mean that they don't listen to Lil'Wayne. And the other way around. (Sorry for my english if the grammar is a bit weird. I'm not born in an englishspeaking country :)

  • Good Rap~!! Great Lee Michaels funk tune sample. "Who could want more"

  • Wohoo Go venice :D

  • 21 haters with no clue about great music!

  • REAL (for a change...)

  • I love how rap went from fear of getting sent to the principle, and offending your friends mom over her bad cooking (Rappers Delight) to shooting at cops and killing people then to being rich

  • DELICIOUS UPSKIRT @ :05

Wtf Bring Back Gangsta Rap the way it was ment. Cube Just dropped what we needed last week. I AM THE WEST. GO listen to that shit. That is What aI m talking about DRINK THE KOOL AID .

  • @twiztid4lyfe73 Well, my friend. True this was our generation of Hip Hop. This was atime when it was brand new, exciting & pure. But things change while they remain the same. Hip Hop has evolved into the new generation for these kids 2day, their generation loves all their modern heroes like Wayne, Drake, Soulja, Ross etc. If ur young at heart then u will feel what the kids of today feel & enjoy all the new innovative things they are bringing 2 da table 2day. I'm a musician so i enjoy it all :-)

  • @therealraybaby

Lil' Wayne's lyrics send black people back a hundred fucking years.

    He's horrible.

  • @twiztid4lyfe73 don't forget wu tang clan
