@marshall2411 Music fans are the reason why music has gone to hell these days! The fans of HipHop love hearing the shit that's out there now, so that's what the labels will keep giving them.  And, HipHop never got jacked, it is a servant to the consumer, and this is what the consumer wants these days. So, until HipHop listeners start demanding better, this is what they're stuck with (I say "they're" because I don't listen to HipHop much anymore).

This must have been before '90s rappers started dressing like angry clowns. I don't know how many of the backing tracks are sampled, but the overall sound is more "real" than on most rap records. This guy had a sense of humor and knew how to entertain. I wonder if there were any old Louis Jordan records ("Pettin and Pokin", "Messy Bessy", "Beware", that kind of thing) in his house while he was growing up.
