There is a great story behind this ad:

This was aired exactly a week after Pentium II started their campaign with the men in those Pentium suits assembling computers with the new processor while singing "Disco Fever" and proclaiming it was much better

So, one week later, at the same time, Apple aired this commercial with that incredibly musical answer "Disco Inferno" (Burn, baby, burn)

It was the end of the Pentium campaign. In fact, that other ad is nowhere to be found!

iMac was the mulit colored in 1998 to 2004. From then all Mac have changed to Aluminum and some white. Now Colors are available iPod Nano

Apple went to Intel to get the NOW faster processors & so they could fit a fast/cooler running chip into the thin notebook line they have been famous for. IBM Power PC just ran out of gas. But back in the day it smoked the Pentium! Thus this ad.

Thay never got burnt The G5 was their last chip and is was still better than intel's chips. The reason why they switch is because IBS promised apple alot of things but they wern't delivering on their promises so Apple decided to make the switch . Also the intel core chip runs much cooler then the power pc chips
