2k9 destroys Live09 when it comes too gameplay. I have both. But if your into managing your team and playing the role of GM, Live 09 is definately better with its DNA features.

Nba 2k9's gameplay is better than live 09's no doubt. Way tooo many dunks on live 09 and the shooting/passing mechanics are still a little freaky. (but with slider adjustments it was better)
Live 09 is definitely better than 2k9 in some areas, but for me gameplay overall in 2k9 is better, the association is much better than live 09's dynasty (big feature for me), 29-game seasons ;), and more realistic simulation.
Well I am still having trouble deciding which one, I see everyone is saying 09 sucks before they even have it yet.
What I am looking forward to is making a character that looks good, and plays good but not too good. In the past Live has had better character creation. While I noticed 2K has always had a challenging Dynasty mode which is a plus. The new live the players seem to shoot way to fast so it dosen't look good, but driving to the hoop looks better then 2K's has. I don't know its tough
I have both and Live is much more realistic this year. I'm playing them on 360. And please "don't question my fanhood" I've played basketball for over 15 years from middle school to collegiate and have coached 2 basketball teams. I think that you have to play these games because I found video where nba live looked much better and in other video nba 2k looked better. It depends on man who made those videos because fan of 2k won't make video where live looks better and fan of live series won't make great 2k video.
I think EA has improved a lot in recent years. I have played the demo of NBA live 09 and found that both gameplay and look are extremely good. The old style of ea has gone. The gameplay is much more realistic than before.
i would like to comment on FIFA 08. I was a PES fan for many years , but after i played FIFA 08, i found that it is really very good, and much better than PES. The reason of avoiding FIFA series is that people are too lazy to accomondate the controlling style of FIFA.

Its 2K of course they wouldn't change gameplay because there's nothing wrong w/ it. All 2K fans ask is that they polish it up not scrap last yrs gameplay and make new one(Like what Live does almost every year). I think that you have to play these games because I found video where nba live looked much better and in other video nba 2k looked better. It depends on man who made those videos because fan of 2k won't make video where live looks better and fan of live series won't make great 2k video.

nba live looks and plays a lot worse than 2k. live looks fake, while 2k feels real.
ea also loses to konami in soccer, as playing fifa is a lot worse than playin pes.
ea, it's time you get some lessons from konami and 2k on how making the players and the general feel of the game realistic.

I think EA has improved a lot in recent years. I have played the demo of NBA live 09 and found that both gameplay and look are extremely good. The old style of ea has gone. The gameplay is much more realistic than before.
i would like to comment on FIFA 08. I was a PES fan for many years , but after i played FIFA 08, i found that it is really very good, and much better than PES. The reason of avoiding FIFA series is that people are too lazy to accomondate the controlling style of FIFA.

Hell no on the FIFA comment, PES is way much better i have all the fifa since 2000 on my computer and on my xbox till 08 and i used to love fifa till i played PES and i wanted to throw all my FIFA games away, PES is way more realistic and challenging FIFA is for people that have never played soccer in their entire life...and whats up with the mexican players on the cover..lol...atleast PES knows who to put on their cover

sry but first ima reply about fifa vs. pes, this last games fifa 08 and pes 08 wre both very close on the rankings all over the world but sry to inform u that fifa was a bit ahead kind of every wre.
And about nba live and nba 2k, nba live has much better graphics, and 2k has better gameplay, so sry man and for this year i dont know since i didnt play both yet

Live always had better graphics. The players look more like the real players its more realistic. Live has all the detail and sweat. 2k8 graphics sucked worst than 2k7. Damn shame.

Yea but Live has stepped it up this year with features for gameplay. Did you play the Live 09 demo? Its nice. I was a 2k fan but I hate the last one they put out. 2k8 that shit sucked balls. 2k8 was rated lower than 2k7 so that tells you right there it sucks ass. Live 08 was much better. And this year Idk because they are not out yet. I might end up copping both.

What features for gameplay? Dynamic DNA? 2K already has that its called Team and Player tendencies. Play Calling? Yeah 2K already had that since waaay back and they made it ezer to use in 2K8. Hmmm not much else is there. . .? OH 365 where rosters are updated daily? Check, idk when it was announced that 2K will have hourly updated roster which means updated roster within hour of official transaction. So whats left. . . . . .?

Point blank. NBA2k8 was the worst b-ball game of the 2k series. I would rather play NBA2k6 or 7. The develepors even admit they took a step back from 2k7. Cmon you cant be doing that shit. This is the era of the next-gen systems. Come out wit a game thats worth $60 or at least better than the previous or else Ima just stop buying the 2k games altogether. There is no excuse for that bullshit they put out last year. If they do that again Im just gonna play Live and forget all about 2k.

Live does have better graphics. . . .when players aren't moving, they'll look great during timeouts and such but when they are moving around the floor its ugly. Honestly talking about graphics is moot and irrelevant.

Its 2K of course they wouldn't change gameplay because there's nothing wrong w/ it. All 2K fans ask is that they polish it up not scrap last yrs gameplay and make new one(Like what Live does almost every year). In layman's term 2K already has the formula for good gameplay while Live is still @ 1+1 = 11

You can tell that EA signed the old producer of NBA 2K on this year. The animations and physics are infinitely better. I still have my doubts though as Live has let me down 6 years in a row. I might give it another chance this year.

2ksports has really stepped up in the graphics department. After I seen the new trailer to NHL 2k9 it blew me away. I dont like hockey though. 2k graphics are close to EAs now.
