  • Refs allowed a 24 sec vio to count for 2 in the final half min while the Lakers were up by 4. Chuck dunked at buzzer, both hands still on ball with buzzer and red light on -- dunks at the buzzer w/ hand on ball are violations. LA would've milked the clock out after that. It cut the game to 1 possession and the Suns only needed to tie instead of having to play that foul and FT game. They were so lucky. If the right call was made, the Lakers had a 9/10 chance to eliminate them in regulation.

  • Man these intros were epic, every game felt like game 7 of the nba finals....and the music was awesome.

  • The Lakers were aging and the curtain fell on their Showtime era,but they were at least teasing that it wasn't totally over yet in this series.

  • @landrykkb The 3 gms in Phx exposed the Suns as a team that didn't protect home court. CHI won Gms 1 and 2 there and used footage from the LA series to develop strategies. When they saw even Elden and Vlade abusing Phx's hole in the middle, Jordan had no problem exploiting their interior D.

  • This Playoff Series just proved that records mean nothing in the playoffs other then what your seed is going to be. Its still about playing the game and executing that determines who wins.

  • @FRSFreeStatePlus Absolutely!

  • THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN!

  • does anyone have this game?

  • A.C. GREEN IS STILL A VIRGIN! #FTW #LOL

  • LOL @ 0:23 Divac flops alot but that was a super-flop

  • wow stupid flop by the flop god

  • @tothebeaty0 LOL i cant stop laughing when i saw that

  • Team of destiny.Ainge,Majerle,Chambers

  • I like the way NBC used to do story lines for their playoff games. I miss it

  • wow the suns and lakers are playing right now.

  • That was the luckiest series ever for phoenix, game 3 was a lucky shot from dan majerle, if dan misses the shot, phoenix goes out in embarrassment. But he makes it and the suns go to the finals.

  • @ENAIZHA The Suns didn't win Game Three on a Majerle shot.

  • @ENAIZHA Then again, the Lakers were lucky that Kevin Johnson missed Game One with a sprained left MCL in his knee. If K.J. had been healthy from the start of this series, then who knows, Phoenix may have swept.

... great drama regardless and the Lakers certainly battled valiantly. But once K.J. came back, Sedale Threatt (35 points on Game One) wasn't very effective.

  • At some point, when I have time, I'll put something up

  • is there the full game available on youtube? or at least some highlights? this game ROCKS!

  • @Gauchoo1234 Someone has put close to the full game up, although the quality isn't stellar.

  • @joekiddlouischama send me the link

  • I remember this game, there was a bad tornad0 near Dallas that day, and they resorted to showing the game in the bottom corner at the end when the local news broke in with tornado damage coverage.

  • did you see the classic vlade flop. lmao

  • "We will win the series. Theres a game on Tuesday we'll win then the next game is on Thursday we'll win that then come back here on Sunday and win again. Then everyone will say what a great series that was." Sincerely, Paul Westphal

  • The Lakers had their chances to shock the world but when they lost game 3, I knew they lost control of the series.

  • That's true. I wonder what it would have been like had Magic not gotten sick and forced into retirement, though.

  • @barkingclam ... like 1990, perhaps ...

  • @barkingclam LA would've beaten them for certain. As it was, the Lakers as an 8th seed (who lost all 5 RS gms to PHX) absolutely worked them over in the 1st two games. Without KJ in Gm 1, Sedale Threatt had the game of his life. LA consistently played inside-out and Phx had to double freeing up the guards. It was the Suns O that LA wasn't equipped to stop (same as in 2006).

  • So Many Memories !!!!! LOL!!!! @ Vlade Divac acting in Toture when Barkely kicked him. He was "THE" pro of acting lol.

  • One of the best first round matchups ever.

I kind of liked it better when the 1st round was 5 games.

  • I'm iffy, really. This year's Bulls/Celtics series (espcially game six) kind of pushed into liking seven games.

  • That didn't have the star power that this one had, plus Pheonix coming from down 0-2 to win. Thats impressive.

  • Amazing intro, and what a matchup that was.

  • this...is the NBA on NBC

    Thank you John Tesh.

  • how the hell were the lakers so competitive in this series?

  • they had big game james

  • Does somebody have the games when the suns played at the Forum?

  • damn these intros were godly.......

  • CBS was better

  • you're on angel dust

  • yep

  • DANGIT, I love that intro man! NBA on NBC! the 90's were off the hoook!

  • anyone have this game?? If so please upload it. Thanks

  • lol @ vlade

  • Vlade looked like he had an atomic bomb dropped on him, still the best flopper the NBA has ever seen.

  • do u have the one for the Bulls Knicks game 7 intro of the 1994 NBA Semifinals and also the Cavs-celtics from 1992 also a game 7?

  • In a word.... no

  • And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, the NBA was at its best on NBC.

P.S.-No one can ever touch Tesh's wonderful theme.
